Schmeichel - Hid best performance of the season so far comfortably. Looked very composed. - 8

Simpson - Good positioning. Didn't bomb forward as much as De Laet - 7

Huth - Like Kasper, comfortably his best performance of the season - 8

Morgan - A real rock, has come a long way this season - 7

Fuchs - Fantastic delivery and much more solid than Schlupp and held the line so much better - 8

Albrighton - Superb defensively and constantly getting dangerous deliveries in, if only Okaxaki wasn't so short - 8

Kante - same old warrior - 8

Drinkwater - Ran the show - 9

Schlupp - Definitely a winger, definitely not a full-back - 8

Vardy - Never stopped - 9

Okazaki - Fantastic work rate especially great coming back to start the 2nd, frustrating in front of goal though. - 6

Okazaki 8

Vardy 8.5 motm

Kasper 6 - Punched well, could come out much more often to relieve pressure when we are bombarded.

Simpson 6 - Solid enough, looked like he got a nosebleed past the halfway line.

Morgan 7 - Pretty good, put his body on the line. Bullied a bit by the big lad who came on 2nd half.

Huth 7 - Similar to Morgan. Unnecessary foul on keeper for Ulloa goal and should have scored late.

Fuchs 8 - 1st choice left back now. Good defensively and great deliveries into the box from open play and dead ball.

Albrighton 7 - Not his best day, worked so hard and put a few dangerous balls in.

Drinkwater 8 - Perfectly suited to the counter attack game, looks to play Vardy away all the time. Won the midfield battle.

Kante 8 - Breaks up the play brilliantly and is everywhere. Distribution and decision making needs work but another good display.

Schlupp 8 - Took his goal well, much more suited to playing wide as he doesn't have to defend as much.

Okazaki 5 - Works hard, has all the attributes but again when he had a couple of half chances didn't take them. Time for Leo.

Vardy 9 - Would be a 10 if he had finished one of those 3 late chances to kill the game. To think even last season we doubted his ability at this level. Soft Pen.

Subs all 6's. Leo best of the 3 and should be starting next time out.

Norwich 6 - Looked pretty good, couldn't handle us on the counter though. Will be safe this year no doubt.

Battenburg 10 - Cheers for the pen Mark, Didn't give them a thing really.

Fuchs 7

Schlupp 7

DD 8 - brilliant

Kante 7 - tenacious and slightly sloppy as ever

Albrighton 7.5 - work rate brilliant as ever and some great balls into the box

Vardy 9 - Jesus what a football player

Okazaki 6 - Struggling slightly

Love me some Drinky but didn't see him as good in this game as many this season.

Okazaki seems to be misunderstood on this forum.

Does anyone wonder why we play so much better offensively and defensively when he's on the pitch?

New member - first post: Watch every game live on TV here in Thailand.

Ranieri: 8 - Picked the right team for the game.

Schmeichel: 7 - Great finger tip save towards the end, which gained us a point. Still wish he'd command his box more on crosses, but love his enthusiasm.

Simpson: 7 - In my eyes he is not a premiership right back. However had a good game today, maybe because of a lack of decent Norwich left sided players? And we looked much stronger as a unit than recently.

Huth: 8 - Felt sorry for Huth all season having to play alongside lesser players. Best match of season yesterday, but still think he misses the quality of Wasyl alongside him.

Morgan: 7 - I like Morgan, but his reading of the game is often slow and he has to react.

Fuchs: 8 - A proper left back. A really classy performance. Must stay in the side now.

Albrighton: 8 - Worked really hard. Just a shame he didn't score. Put some decent and dangerous crosses in.

Drinkwater: 9 - Outstanding. If he can keep this standard up he will be the next Leicester City player in the England squad.

Kante: 8 - Better passing this week, but is working well with Drinky and he covers every inch of the pitch. Love the way he works, just wont give in.

Schlupp: 8 - Looked very happy playing further forward and his goal was superb.

Vardy: 9 - Outstanding. Should have been a 10 if he'd put one of his two chances away towards the end.

Okazaki: 8 - Worked really hard from the front. I can see why Ranieri picks him, but he needs goals to take the pressure of Vardy.

Subs:

Banalouane: 6 - Need to see more of him, but I felt Simpson actually did better.

King: 6 - Floated around, put in a few tackles, but I didn't notice him do anything special (or bad).

Ulloa: 7 - Thought he was excellent. Deserves a start. Good goal disallowed.

Referee: 6 - Better than the rubbish we've had recently. Not sure about our penalty, however there were many others he could have given for both sides (for shirt pulling and holding) which were far more blatant. Couldn't find much fault with Ulloa's goal, the pushing was 50/50 and far less than the shirt and neck pulling of both sides at corners.

Norwich: 5 - Enough to stay up, although their next match at Newcastle will be crucial to confidence.

Seems people have been generous to Huth given his costing us what might have been an important goal with his unnecessary foul. Yes, it was good to see him performing better defensively. But that one daft mistake put us under pressure we'd perhaps have avoided at 3-1.

Schmeichel- 7 (More authoritative in his area, made a good save near the end)

Simpson- 7 (Better than De Laet has been, first half their left side was very quiet)

Huth- 7 (Improved display, needless foul to deny Ulloa's goal but defended with confidence)

Morgan- 7 (Gave Jerome very little, a far better player than last season. Is benefitting from experience at this level)

Fuchs- 8 (Impressive, gets forward well, good crosses and not too shaky defensively)

Albrighton- 7 (Put some decent crosses in, solid display)

Kante- 8 (Superb, continually breaks up play without being nasty or reckless and passing was better)

Drinkwater- 8 (He plays well, team plays well. Was the case two years ago and he's showing that form again. Looks a much happier player)

Schlupp- 7 (Good goal, positive performance, better than at left back)

Okazaki- 6 (Not terrible but not imposing enough in front of goal. Good challenge in the build up to the second goal)

Vardy- 8.5 (Probably should've had an open play goal but always a threat and an outlet towards the end when under pressure. Constant running and good link up play)

Subs-

Benny- 6 (Nothing particularly wrong, steady)

Ulloa- 6 (Good header disallowed, held the ball up well, possibly time for a start)

King- 5 (Nothing special, nothing worrying)

Ranieri- 8 (Good set up, big decision to leave Mahrez out, team was organised and subs were fine)

Norwich- 6 (Not a bad side, we stifled them and they looked ponderous at times. Won't go down)

Clattenburg- 7 (Key decisions correct, let the game flow, not overly fussy)

Ranieri: 9 - Fantastic - Doubted him before the game. I couldn't have been more wrong. He's really building trust between him and the fans.

Schmeichel: 7 - Great save and important punches. Marshaled the defense well for 17 corners.

Simpson: 6 - Average. Didn't really do much wrong but didn't really impact on the game either.

Huth: 7 - Morgan and Huth both very strong and commanding.

Morgan: 7 - See above

Fuchs: 7 - Did well defensively and got forward too.

Albrighton: 7 - he plays the game like a game of chess. Knows what's he's going to do well into the future. The complete opposite of Lloyd Dyer.

Drinkwater: 8 - Will be knocking on the door for England if he keeps this up. His self belief has grown so much this season.

Kante: 9 - Had a hand in both goals. He looks like a complete midfielder.

Schlupp: 8 - When he's on it, he's unplayable - simple.

Vardy: 9 - I think he's going to be a name in the future banded around in the same sentence as Lineker. An average performance for him - that sums it up really!

Okazaki: 7 - Has had some criticism, justifiably, but very good today. Worked so hard.

Subs:

Banalouane: 7 - Prefer him to Simpson but CB is his natural position.

King: 6 - N/A

Ulloa: 6 - N/A

Referee:  - Average+ Gave a correct penalty.

Norwich: 6- - Avergae+

Feel like I'm constantly standing up for Okazaki on this forum, but think back to Schlupp's goal. Okazaki's work rate won the ball back, without him on the pitch at that point we don't score the second, because as hard as Ulloa works too, he doesn't have the mobility to track players like that. Yes he needs to be sharper in front of goal at times when chances come his way, but he's scored plenty in his career to convince me that the goals will come.

Bit harsh considering the goal Ulloa did score was chalked off through no fault of his own. No-one doubts Okazaki's work ethic but he's a striker and Vardy needs some help. At two bone fractures and a bad knee the bloke will be leading the line on a stretcher soon.

Schmeichel - 7 - Had very little to do but made some good saves to keep it at 2-1 in the second half.

Simpson - 7 - Had a very good game. Looked much better than De Laet has in his 2 appearances this season. I don't like the guy but hopefully he's turned a corner at the club.

Huth - 7 - A solid and commanding presecene at the back. Handled Jerome very well all day.

Morgan - 8 - Massive again from big Wes. Gallant in defence of the 2-1 lead.

Fuchs - 8 - Was majorly impressed with Fuchs again. His delivery into the box is on point and he looks very capable defensively too.

Albrighton - 7 - Back to a better performance today. Linked up well and got forward in true Albrighton style. Put a good shift in too.

Kante - 8 - Another fantastic performance from Kante. Absolutely brilliant from N'Golo. He breaks up play like nobody's business

Drinkwater - 8 - Class. A general like performance. Running the show at the moment.

Schlupp - 7 - Had a good game and took his goal well. Felt he performed better in a left wing role than he has at left back.

Okazaki - 6 - Looked better today than he has in recent weeks. Linked up well and the usual shift was in but lacked a bit of quality in the final 3rd. He will come good.

Vardy - 9 - England, England's Number 9. Enough said.

Subs - 6's - All looked decent when they came on. Ulloa played very well (still feel he should start at the moment) and was unlucky to see his goal chalked off, thought Benalouane helped counter the physical threat of Mbokani well and King steadied the midfield at a time when we were getting penned in a bit.

Ranieri - 9 - Brave tactical changes in dropping Mahrez and two alterations to the defence. Sensible substitutions and a good execution of an away day performance. In Claudio we trust.

It's all well and good saying Simpson was better than RDL defensively but you have to factor in that he didn't have Mahrez in front of him and didn't offer much going forward.

Did his job and contributed to a win, but you have to compare like with like and Richie has spent most of this season exposed by Ranieri giving Mahrez license to attack.

Agreed and it was a small sample but I can see Ranieri running with the more defensive set up.

Mostly 8s, Vardy, Drinky & Claudio 9s. Great performance and we now have 2 full backs that can defend, Schlupp must only play as a winger and he will murder teams with performances like that....

Up the City....
