Countryfox Posted 20 October 2015 Posted 20 October 2015 Canada's looking pretty good at the minute. I still think my Stoney Stanton post takes some beating. Much closer than Canada so not so far to take all your stuff ... and much easier to come back and visit friends and family at the weekends. Also, they use the same currency as us which is a big bonus (no trips to the rip off bureau de change!). And hasn't it got a nice ring to it .... Stoney .... Stanton ... Get it.
sphericalfox Posted 20 October 2015 Posted 20 October 2015 Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it too. Going to be living in New Hampshire but probably commuting to work in Boston or Portland. Commuting from the north of Boston into the actual city? By helicopter I assume?
AoWW Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 I'd build a den under my duvet. I'd take a stash of food, my kindle, laptop and a hot water bottle. I'd happily hibernate all winter.
Nalis Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Canada's looking pretty good at the minute. Depends on the province.
sphericalfox Posted 21 October 2015 Posted 21 October 2015 Depends on the province. I don't mean the arsesticks of nowhere. Canadian suburbia would be fine. Toronto would probably suit the family.

If its a double bed I think there would be room for at least 300 refugees .... but I would then strictly control your borders by tucking all the sheets in as no doubt there will be thousands more waiting in the bedroom if word gets out.
MC Prussian Posted 22 October 2015 Posted 22 October 2015 Depends on the province. Obviously, the Northern Provinces are a lot less appealing unless you dig cold weather almost all-year round - but you can find very nice spots in pretty much all areas near the border with the USA, be it British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or PEI.

No doot aboot it! Come to the greater Toronto area my friends. Canada welcomes you to the land of maple syrup.
