Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 New England, Stateside. Actually happening - probably late next year. Lucky bastard, I went to Boston and Cape Cod some years ago, loved every minute there
bovril Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 New England, Stateside. Actually happening - probably late next year. Wait, there's a new England?
leicsmac Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Lucky bastard, I went to Boston and Cape Cod some years ago, loved every minute there Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it too. Going to be living in New Hampshire but probably commuting to work in Boston or Portland.
RowlattsFox Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Melbourne always stands out even though I've not been anywhere near there. I almost annually look at jobs over there etc, usually during the Big Bash or the Christmas tests but then fades away again. I'd live in Florida too.
Stevosevic Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Colombia. No explanation needed once you've been and seen the standard of women .
Guest MattP Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 New Zealand, so beautiful and peaceful. Loved every minute I spent there.
Soup Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Tried southern Italy, had the house and olive grove. Used to spend two solid months there every summer for 5 years with the expectation of one day staying there. The bastard place eventually ground us down, though it's a beautiful place it's still in the dark ages with pretty much everything. I didn't realise how much how much I took the simple things for granted, I'd never want to move permanently now anywhere.

Soup Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 That's Italy for you mate.Yeah mate I know. So disappointed it beat us but we gave it a go. Still love the place though.
Merging Cultures Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it too. Going to be living in New Hampshire but probably commuting to work in Boston or Portland.I've got a very good friend in Portland. Are you single?!!
VLC86 Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I've got a very good friend in Portland. Are you single?!!Cilla in the house.
leicsmac Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I've got a very good friend in Portland. Are you single?!! Hahaha, afraid not. Indeed, going from being single to not being so during my time in Korea is the reason I'm heading over there.
Merging Cultures Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Hahaha, afraid not. Indeed, going from being single to not being so during my time in Korea is the reason I'm heading over there. I do remember now. I'll still introduce you to Katie, she is very nice.
whoareyaaa Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I could see myself in Thailand or somewhere similar, nice relaxed culture, nice weather and cheap to live.
Finnegan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 If friends weren't a factor, Hong Kong. Given I've got friends in Tokyo that probably promotes it from close second. If I hadn't dropped out of uni I genuinely think I'd be there now doing a Leicsmac. Alas. In Europe, probably Bavaria. Great food, best beer, nice people, nice countryside, shit loads of quaint historic towns and Nuremberg are like the Leicester of German football.
Vossen Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Greek island of Naxos...lived there for 14 years before moving to Maastricht

You make new ones and expand horizons.
NewburyFox Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Off to Australia from January for god knows how long, so there for now! I wouldn't mind living in the States, maybe California. Melbourne always stands out even though I've not been anywhere near there. I almost annually look at jobs over there etc, usually during the Big Bash or the Christmas tests but then fades away again. I'd live in Florida too. I start in Melbourne, I'll let you know what it's like
Crinklyfox Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Having travelled in my working life I appreciate the UK so probably wouldn't emigrate. If I did it would be to Mauritius. Tropical island, friendly people, English widely spoken. And the cost of living is lower so the pension goes a bit further.
Jattdogg Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 I could see myself in Thailand or somewhere similar, nice relaxed culture, nice weather and cheap to live. For the lady boys or ping pong ball shows?
Finnegan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Friends come and go. You make new ones and expand horizons. Narh, that's just not who I am. I'm not extroverted enough to want to keep making new friends. I like having a small circle of friends and I'm fiercely loyal to those people I let in. I've a small handful of friends that I pretty much consider the family I never really had, as corny as that may be to some people, and one of the closest of those is now in Tokyo.

I've got a good core of friends that I barely need to keep in touch with. They've helped me out, and I'd help them out, no questions asked. But it is tough starting over in new places.
Finnegan Posted 19 October 2015 Posted 19 October 2015 Oh for sure. But I didn't mean "I wouldn't move to Hong Kong because I don't know anyone there" more "as a city I narrowly prefer Hong Kong to Tokyo but my friends in Tokyo just swing it."
