The Railway Man Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 With the extra money in the PL you'll soon being more 10million duds in this league than success stories, he looks a bit of a prospect but 2million to 10million because of a few goals in Holland, not for me yet.
Górnik Leicester Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 The "he only signed recently for Ajax for £2m" argument is awful. Didn't get in the Bayer Leverkusen team, who then shipped him on loan to Ajax with a "£2m option to buy". Tore up the Eredivisie in his first season, and became a regular. From someone who watches him regularly, and has done since he signed for Górnik from Rozwój Katowice, I'd say that £2m for Milik was some of the best business I've seen in football.
Stevosevic Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 He looks a ruthless finisher from the videos i've seen of him. I never had that impression of the videos of Kramaric - this opinion strengthened with his finishing in a Leicester shirt. All based on videos of course

So why didn't we go in and bid 4m then? Why have we waited for his performances to decline for Ajax to decide to be interested enough to make a 10m bid? (assuming we're interested). 10m would break our record so it's not peanuts. Spend January rebuilding the defence because it's clearly not good enough at the moment.
Babylon Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 8m extra after 6 goals in the Eridivisie? Do you think Kante is worth more than the £5m we paid for him?
AKCJ Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Do you think Kante is worth more than the £5m we paid for him? Yes. His performances in the Premier League has shown that he's good enough at this level. £5m at the time was a reasonable figure for him but his performances have increased his worth. What is your point?
Babylon Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 So why didn't we go in and bid 4m then? Errrr because he's worth more than £4m... it's like saying why don't Spurs bid £2m for Vardy as we only signed him for £1m. As he already said, if the amount was already written into the loan contract they got a bargain.
ScouseFox Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 does anyone even want us to sign anyone anymore? we get linked to people an all im like is nah he ain't getting in our team. we get linked to toni kroos an im all nah mate he's on the bench at best drinkwater ain't getting dropped.
Babylon Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Yes. His performances in the Premier League has shown that he's good enough at this level. £5m at the time was a reasonable figure for him but his performances have increased his worth. What is your point? So you answered your own question, his performances have increased his value. The £2m was in the loan deal, he's since scored 16 goals in 22 starts... increasing his value.
Babylon Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 another striker ? bizzare. Why is it bizzare to be tracking other strikers?
MC Prussian Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 another striker ? bizzare. We haven't signed anybody, only been linked with potential transfer targets. You never know what's going to happen on the TRANSFERS OUT front next to "Leicester City" this January/February or, looking past that, next summer.
Lestoh Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 another striker ? bizzare. Don't think it's all that strange really. Majority of our goals this season have come from Vardy & Mahrez - only one of those is an actual striker. If we can find Vardy a prolific partner up front, our attack will be so much more dangerous. Kram and Ulloa have to go at some point, though.
johnny the fox Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Anybody who has ever run any sort of business knows you should always be planning the next three moves ahead not to do so is not standing still, it is going backwards..

As he already said, if the amount was already written into the loan contract they got a bargain. No, not at all. We've clearly been looking at him for a long while (if not then it's ****ing worrying to be going for a 10m bid after he's regressed since his permanent switch). So why, after he's moved in the summer for pittance do we follow up now with a bid of 8m more than he went for just a couple of months ago? You're worth what people will pay for you. If it's been done through a pre-negoatiated contract for 2m then yes, that is a bargain. But that still doesn't mean he's now worth 10m.
MPH Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 another striker ? bizzare. Wouldnt be surprised if Kramaric wants out and they want someone who can push vardy/ okazaki a bit more...
Babylon Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 No, not at all. He has scored 5 in 8 compared to 11 in 14 last season? He went for a "pittance" because it was in the loan contract that he could do. If that wasn't in there there Leverkusen would have probably asked for more money after the goals he scored. "that still doesn't mean he's now worth 10m." We haven't paid £10m, it's a figure in a newspaper. A made up figure that could include massive made up add ons. Or be, errr totally made up. "He's worth what someone is willing to pay" He's also only worth what someone is willing to accept. You really think Ajax would let a 21 year old go with his record for them for just £4m, a shitty £2m profit?

You really think Ajax would let a 21 year old go with his record for them for just £4m, a shitty £2m profit? Why are you getting wound up over this? I'm merely saying that i've not seen him do enough to be worth £10m. I had no idea that it was a predetermined contract worth 2m. I said that he's regressed because he scored 23 in 33 last season and 7 in 17 this season. Absolutely no idea where you've got those stats from.
Dan Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Can't get my head around people who think this might fail because Kramaric hasn't pulled up any trees. It's the same as those who say we should never sign a Hungarian again because of Laczko, Bori and Futacs. It really is irrelevant to the point and why they will or won't succeed.

AKCJ Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 Because they're quite blatantly going to turn it down? Can I just make this even more obvious, I didn't know Bayer let him go on a predetermined loan amount worth 2m. I just thought they sold him for 2m in the summer, hence a 4m bid would clearly have been accepted.
Dan Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 No, not at all. So many factors dictate a player's value. Being a cast off at Leverkusen to someone banging them in for Ajax is undoubtedly going to change your value. More fool Leverkusen for putting in a clause letting him go for £2mil. The minute we signed Kante his value went up because he's at a wealthier club. If he played like crap for us, became a dud, it'll go down again. It varies a hell of a lot nowadays. Vardy's has gone from the majority saying they'd take £5mil for him to the majority saying they'd not take £20mil in less than a year.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 The caption on the first photo: "Fox in the box: That's what Milik could be soon". Sounds like Adrian was out on the beers last night and is really struggling this morning.
Górnik Leicester Posted 4 November 2015 Posted 4 November 2015 He has had a slight knock early this season (missed the crucial Poland - Ireland game as a result), and to be fair has some good competition at Ajax. Scored six in a Dutch Cup game for Ajax last year - the only other person to do so? Luis Suarez.
