Donut Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Do homeless people have a computer to read the details on?
Vardinhio Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Do homeless people have maps to find this pub? Will they be made to buy a beer whilst they are there?
srbfox Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Rince, you seem to do a lot of work for good causes, how can we make donations to any of them. I often look to make donations but try and avoid the national big'uns as much prefer my money to go to Leicester causes.
Renart Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 @@Rincewind, Happy birthday mate. Have a good one.

For those that asked, they posted on Facebook asking for others that know of homeless people or others that are down on their luck to inform them. And not all homeless people sleep in shop doorways. They could be sofa surfing, in a hostel or even sleeping in their car. https://www.facebook.com/david.bakewell/posts/1220248898001903?fref=nf&pnref=story See the link in my sig for more info about the homeless you may not be aware of.
MooseBreath Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Just a joke ken. I think it's a great idea and would go along and lend a hand if I wasn't at work. Always great to see people down on their luck being given tangible assistance rather than hollow platitudes.

I'm well chuffed for this pub...too long in the shadow of the fly-over. Great gesture and hopefully the owners can make a success of it.
tylesta Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Will the owner's be there come the 9th december. Brilliant gesture though hope it goes well
Guest MattP Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Happy Birthday Ken. Nice idea from the pub, hope they manage to get the message out, can't see many turning up only offering free soft drinks though, should have offered up a free bar, would be packed.
Len Finsbury Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Had some great nights in the Bridle when I used to work at the college across the road. The electronic darts scoreboard always made it easier to score after a few beers too! A nice gesture by the owners.

I think they have to be careful with bar drinks re licensing laws. I don't know if they are paying it all themselves. Could be through donations throughout the year. Nice idea anyway. Each pub have their own charity to sponsor. Sometimes it is the breweries choice but I think can choose a local one also. BTW thanks for all the birthday wishes. Next year is a big one. Official retirement. It will be on a Saturday and I have asked John, landlord at the Kings Head to put aside one of his Rock Nights for that date. Not confirmed or details yet but an invite will be available to all on FoxesTalk It was just an idea so nothing certain. Depends if anything else crops up.
kingcarr21 Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Count me in You love getting fed then fed some more

Guest MattP Posted 19 November 2015 Posted 19 November 2015 Worth noting this isn't just for the homeless, anyone down on their luck can go. I'm tempted as I like a meal out, only thing that worries me is that I'd have to sit next to someone who put me off dinner or they'll turn up off their faces. I know how awful that sounds.
