Although this thread is 'hypothetical' I just hope people don't get carried away and expect us qualify for the CL and start thinking about what our group could look like. Personally, I'd rather leave these types of threads until it's guaranteed - but that's just me cos I don't like tempting fate... It's all a bit of fun really. I don't think it's silly of people to discuss hypothetical scenarios and especially ones that could realistically now happen. From a matchgoing perspective I'd be happy with the result of any European finish, although naturally now I think the bar has been raised.

Because I noticed that I never saw 2 English teams in the same group.. but maybe its just a coincidence. I'm not sure Teams from the same country are kept apart at the group stage ......... and I think the 1st knock-out stage. So you English teams wouldn't meet each other until the QF at the earliest.

I'm not suggesting it's silly, just a bit premature maybe with not even half the season done yet. I'd love to go back to Madrid as I was too pissed to remember most of what happened the last time.
