The Migrant Crisis Troll-Free Thread.

British judges have ruled that three Syrian teenagers and an adult in the Calais migrant camp can come to the UK immediately as they have siblings here.

An immigration tribunal told the Home Office to process their asylum claims because France had not already done so.

The case could lead to further claims if other vulnerable asylum seekers can prove they have links to the UK.

Campaigners said the decision was groundbreaking, although the Home Office may appeal.

The three 16-year-olds, who in legal terms are classed as children, have been living in the so-called "Jungle" camp for at least two months. The fourth claimant is the 26-year-old brother of one of the other three and suffers from a serious mental illness.

All four had fled the Syrian civil war, saying they had witnessed traumatic events including bombings and death. Two of them were detained and tortured by the Syrian government.

None of them had been able to make effective asylum claims in France - but they all have adult brothers who are legally settled in the UK as recognised refugees.

Lawyers told judges at the Immigration and Asylum Tribunal earlier this week that the group were suffering "intolerable" conditions in the massive and unsanitary camp and were desperate to be reunited safely with their siblings.

They successfully argued that all four should be allowed to enter the UK and apply for asylum here, rather than being forced to remain in France in the hope that its government would eventually consider their case.

A spokesman for the judiciary said: "The tribunal has, subject to conditions, ordered that four individuals, who claim to be refugees, should, in the particular circumstances of their cases, be allowed to enter the UK.

"The tribunal's full judgement is expected within two weeks."

I am "anyone" Matt.  ;)

As regards the Swedish story maybe they are doing it because it would just be used as a cane for the migrants . As a Birmingham mp said in the papers this morning - rapes like in Germany on news years eve happen every day in Birmingham. It's not the migrant's in particular that are the problem - it's men!

I'm sure you've seen that social experiment in the US repeated in Europe where a  person pretends to be a drunk attractive woman who is lost and every man just tries to get her in the sack. No-one helps her because she is lost (or drunk).

You're saying we shouldn't report the truth because it doesn't fit a certain agenda?

Where did I say that ?

Webbo you do have a habit of putting words into my mouth that aren't there.

I'm saying exactly what that Birmingham mp said today and from what I understand some of the Swedish are saying.

The press are being selective in what they publish - they publish rapes by migrants but not all the rapes by non-migrants?

Are you saying that rapes by Brits in Britain are fine? No, of course not.

Reports of sexual attacks have been on the rise for many years, women don't feel safe walking in many areas at many times of the day in all of our western cities. The origin is not migrants, the origin is men. Women are still seen as sexual objects by most men (even us lot on here looking at the many threads - some of which have now been removed - which portray women as sexual objects). And before you suggest it I'm as much a culprit as many others on here.

So they're not reporting the story because it would be bad for migrants( and it wouldn't look good for the pro migrant lobby either)

As for the MP comparing a normal Friday night in Birmingham to what happened in Cologne is pathetic and insulting to the intelligence to us all.

So I'm saying just the opposite:

They shouldn't print something just to fit an agenda.

They should print it because it happened, unless you're saying certain groups should be exempt from the scrutiny of public opinion?

They should also print about all the thousands of sexual assaults by non migrants too then.

I don't think any group should be exempt and that includes natives and non-migrants.

Don't you think a non-migrant assault is as bad as a migrant assault?

Rapes regularly make the papers. Jimmy Saville's sexual abuse has been the biggest story of the decade and I'm pretty sure he's not a migrant.

You didn't answer my question - then you rarely do.

As far as I'm aware Saville hasn't been accused of rape but whatever he made the news because he's a celeb  - so again a particular group of interest.

I'm not sure if you're being deliberately "obtuse" but to make it clear to you I DO think the migrant rapes should be reported but in a "truthful" context of how few they are compared to non-migrant rapes. Just to go further and allay your obvious fears I think all of those migrants involved in rape and sexual attacks should be punished and then deported back to whatever war zone they come from.

What question? Are non migrant rapes as bad as migrant rapes? Obviously yes.

Glad to hear it. Then equally newsworthy.

Has anyone claimed that only migrants are violent criminals?

I can't do this anyone, what the **** is going on?

I expect it from a moron like Oz but are we sseriously now saying mass sexual assault is cool because some of us do Iit?

Thought this was quite interesting (sorry for the massive size).

Some of the estimates are insane. Italy 20%?!? Hungary 7?!

Thats cus its 5%.

Yeah, I misunderstood. Actually I'm surprised it's 5%, I thought it was about 3.

People probably guess higher because of the amount of crimes they cause, you rarely see a week go by with someone being convicted of terrorism offences and we've had Muslim grooming gangs in virtually every major city with an Islamic population.

When you see all that it will be hard to believe the population is so small.
