Finnaldo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Inter-sport alliance has been set it seems! Leicester City NEWS: Foxes send NFL's surprise package the Carolina Panthers four City shirts Comments (0) Leicester City has sent an unfancied and overachieving NFL team four Foxes shirts ahead of a crucial NFL game. The Carolina Panthers have been the surprise package in American Football this season, winning 15 games and losing only one – the best record in the NFL. City, seemingly noticing the similarities between the two teams' seasons, have sent the Panthers four shirts with the names and numbers of quarterback Cam Newton, cornerback Josh Norman, middle linebacker Luke Kuechly and kicker Graham Gano on the back. Norman, who wore his City shirt in the changing room, told ESPN: "It's kind of crazy. "They just wanted to show support and I'm showing support by wearing it for them. It's pretty cool we've got support over there in England." He said that both teams were unfancied at the beginning of the season but have proven their doubters wrong. "They were like they were just like us," he added. "Nobody was giving them clout or anything. They had to come up and get everything they've got. Pretty much earn everything. Now they're No. 1." The Panthers are set for a crucial NFC divisional playoff game against Seattle on Sunday and City will go top of the Premier League if they beat Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon. Finnaldo Posted 15 January 2016 Author Posted 15 January 2016 the panthers have been brilliant this season! Only picked them for their fairly poor title record and always seemed the bridesmaid - seemed like City all over back then. Now the similarities are just growing! Hoping for a Premier league Championship & Superbowl double this year now!

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I'll make the enamel badges, someone contact the council see if we can twin up these cities
UPinCarolina Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 As the only LCFC supporter I know of in Charlotte, this is absolutely wonderful. Hopefully Leicester City can become Charlotte's favored club out of this. There are some strong Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea supporter groups here - and a rather large expat population from England, as well as considerable American interest in European football. Enough to support a couple bars that have a sizable morning crowd watching the Premier League, including one called Hooligans that is dedicated strictly to football (where I watch as many matches as I'm able)In 2014, Liverpool played AC Milan and in 2015 Chelsea vs PSG played at the Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers.
Finnaldo Posted 15 January 2016 Author Posted 15 January 2016 I'll make the enamel badges, someone contact the council see if we can twin up these cities I suggest we pool all the money the council has budgeted for bus and cycle lanes (roughly £2 trillion) and relocate Leicestershire and North/South Carolina to the centre of the Atlantic to form our own landmass alliance. No need for passports either, just flash your enamel badge.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 If Wasyl retires at the end of the season we could ship him over to the Panthers? Think he'd be right at home just hurting people
Jordan Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 If Wasyl retires at the end of the season we could ship him over to the Panthers? Think he'd be right at home just hurting peopleHe would have rather enjoyed the game they played at the NY Giants a few weeks ago.

There's actually a few of us here in Charlotte. I think there's another 2 that post on here. Probably enough to start a supporters club before long.
