WYS before kick off at home games and Goal Music

Anyone ever remember that bloke who made that Paolo Sousa Peri Peri Pie song?

He'd do a job on when you're smiling.

There's not even a debate, if we could record or find a decent version of WYS to be played just before the teams came out or just after the geezer reads the teams out (instead of Hey Jude) then the club would be a lot better off. It would lift the atmosphere and make us look better. Big clubs should belt out their anthem regularly. Unfortunately most of our fans need real encouragement to sing the majority of our traditional songs so having a version played pre-match would be ideal.

It needs to be a slower version of the Frank Sinatra one (which is upbeat), or a slightly quicker version of the Louis Armstrong one (who sings it in exactly the right tune). The Jersey Budd version was depressing.

Likewise, if we got rid of embarrassing things like goal music, gold trim, #fearless and clappers, we'd look like a proper English football club, instead of looking a small-time corporate 'franchise' that needs gimmicks to carry it.

The goal music is a total atmosphere killer - when fans should be celebrating and singing, they've got a song playing over the top that you can't even sing a long to, just so the club can indoctrinate them to sit down again stright after it's finished.

I tend to find that if people are celebrating enough, you don't even hear the goal music. Maybe that's just where I sit in relation to the speakers.

Yeah, can't say I've heard it really in 18 months or so.

Also maintain the Jersey Budd version isn't actually that bad if you belt it, ask anyone that watched the Bruges game in Club 13

No Hey Jude before kick-off yesterday.

Too embarrassing when playing a Merseyside club ?? Or just too embarrassing ??

Or more likely due to it being the Remembrance fixture.

So much better without it.

True and this is because there's a big difference between football fans actually singing this song and listening to frank sinatra or louis armstrong singing it and i'm afraid we're never gonna sound like those two but we can sing it like jersey budd, cos he ain't a very good singer.

Club Foot was good yesterday - it was very loud.

It needs to be played closer to the teams coming out so when it finishes the geezer can start Post Horn Gallop.

Oddly the sound levels seem to be all over the place from one matchday to the next, midweek game you couldn’t hear the music and commentary to the fox video yet yesterday it was loud enough to hear.

Does the same chap control the PA levels every game because surely he’d know what output it is if so.

Bin that euro dance tune they play (that we started singing to in Porto)pre match, it’s as bad as uptown funk.

Absolutely. I noticed this too. Dirge of a song with zero relevance to our club. Pretty sure it was Martin Allen who brought it in, whom we all know is one of the most highly regarded City managers.

Agree! Really hate hearing Hey Jude.

I refuse to sing a long to it but will join in with all other chants ha ha

Leftover Cuties version of WYS is now my favourite. Definitely more upbeat and I would love it to be played pre-match.
