Tonny Vilhena can not complain about interest. Last Sunday the Feyenoord midfielder was even viewed by the leader of the Premier League, reports De Telegraaf today.

The Rotterdam lost a chance, but Vilhena did speak of themselves by popping a devastating and wonderfully shot via the underside of the crossbar into the goal. The phone at the management would be ringing off the hook, says the newspaper.

However, a departure seems imminent, as Vilhena personally prefer to leave in the summer. Despite Feyenoord seems to be short-term add another midfielder to the selection. An agreement would be reached with FC Twente on Renato Tapia.

As good as that goal is... It does seem a petulant, we're being thrashed so I might as well smack one from here kind of strike.

 

 

Doesn't take away from the fact it was glorious. He has been their best player this year.

Is that true? It is quite the opposite from what I am reading from a Feyenoord fan on reddit...

For reference this is from said Feyenoord fan, I suppose he does say he is in good form, but also says he fell out of the starting 11 so not sure what to make of it. 

 

Vilhena's contract expires this summer, and since we are apparently getting a new midfielder in Twente's Tapia, I could see us selling him now. Leicester is definitely a great club for him.

Vilhena was at one point regarded as one of the best Dutch prospects, but his development stagnated and his form declined. He fell out of favor with regards to the starting eleven, partially because of a great many midfielders brought into the club in the past two seasons.

That said, every time he plays nowadays he still seems to give it all - in fact his current form is probably the best form he's had in over a year.

Supposedly there were Leicester scouts watching when he scored an absolute worldy  this weekend.

I think so. He always tries very hard, which I think would work in the Leicester squad. He has had to overcome some personal troubles that stunted his development a little though.

Still only 21, plenty of time to reach his potential. I am keen on this I think but not sure exactly where he fits in right now.

Exactly. He is young and now he has his mind focused back on his game, the coming years should be very prosperous for him.

Looks like a baller (from YouTube vids) looks like he could easily slot in in the wing cm or in the number 10 role, got a rocket of a left peg and only 21, seems to tick quite a few boxes

Apparently, his mother is terminally ill with cancer and maybe he's dipping into his last reserves as a gesture of dedication to her (which could explain that cracker of a shot against Alkmaar), but he's also stated he doesn't want to leave the Netherlands right now as a consequence of these family matters.
