Any info on what the tifo is about mate?

As usual, we will never share the design ahead of the game but in response to someone else's point about whether they will have their hands available to clap the team out then the probable answer is yes.

So it's a head tifo?

Union FS - Choreography vs Swansea City

Hello all, it's been a while.

But here we are. 4 games. 8 points required. 360 of the most important minutes in the Club's 132-year history.

It cannot have escaped your attention that the atmosphere we have created as fans has driven the team on to these extraordinary heights. Countless players have commented as such. 'The 12th man' is a horrible phrase coined by marketeers but for 34 games we have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with each of our heroes within the white lines.

Over the last week our players have had to deal with a rival effectively being able to switch a referee at a whim, whilst themselves being handed another with a clear agenda against Leicester City (see Forest away August 2011 for proof).

Sunday is the biggest test of the lot for all of us connected with Leicester City Football Club. We should have no doubt that each City player that takes the field on Sunday would lay down their life to win this title and add to our collection of second and third division titles, our three League Cups and one Charity Shield.

But those of us lucky enough to have tickets for Sunday (and United, Everton, and Chelsea) must be willing to match that desire. Every 50/50 must be won by us as a crowd. Any debate over free-kicks or throw-ins must be settled by us.

Any nerves? Sing and bounce them out of your head. Who needs their voice on a Monday, anyway?

As many of you will now know, Union FS will be putting on a tifo on Sunday to help push the lads on a little bit more during their final preparations.

Ordinarily, we would request the South Stand be in their seats 15 minutes before kick off to take part.

But there's nothing ordinary about Sunday. We all know it is much more important than that. We implore as many of us as possible to take your seats by 3.45, to start building that atmosphere that we know can help bring us 3 points closer to eternal glory.

We are the lucky ones. 132 years have passed, hundreds of thousands of our late fans over countless generations not able to witness what we are fortunate enough to be seeing. Remember them. Sing for them. Because this is the season for Leicester!!

Up the City,

Union FS

Roughly how much do the Tifo's cost in total to produce on any given matchday?

Could UFS set up an area outside the ground where people could learn more about the group, and donate to future Tifo's to make them perhaps more frequent? Unless there already is an area...

Thats each, all raised through donations. Feel free to chip in. And doesnt include time and effort, some guys travel hundreds of miles on a weekend just to help make them. Awesome effort from the lads.

As mentioned the efforts are all worth it considering the design qualities of the Tifo's. The ones thus far have been excellent.

Obviously I get what a tifo is, thanks to the great ones produced so far, but could someone explain to me what tifo actually means? Or stands for if it's an acronym? I've always wondered.

Can't wait to see Sundays by the way....keep up the great work.

Italian word for a group of supporters "tifosi" or "tifoso" for a group of male supporters.

Not a google search but I asked the same question to an Italian:

Italian word for a group of supporters "tifosi" (or "tifoso" for a group of male supporters) (said something about Ferrari) But the word as we know it isn't used by the Azzurri or Ad zuri . It just an old Italian words that get gets joined and evolve in modern language.

Good question though, I'm sure someone has a better answer.

Google wasn't telling me much at all to be honest so thank you for the detailed answer. Whatever it means the Union FS boys have done an amazing job with theirs!

Probably been posted a thousand times,

but can I have a link to donate please?

While I'm on the thread, another good question I myself have asked before. Keep scrolling to the very bottom and there is a donate button.

If that's the case we could do with a new term, sexism has no place at the King Power Stadium.
