Lord Kante Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 If we manage to win it tonight, or even on Sunday, the trophy will definitely be lifted vs Everton won't it?
ClaphamFox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 No. The trophy can only be lifted at the last game - Premier League rules. So it will be at Chelsea if we win it.
Jimothy Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 No - the trophy can only be lifted at the last game. So it will be at Chelsea if we win it. Well you're wrong
The Doctor Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 No - the trophy can only be lifted at the last game. So it will be at Chelsea if we win it. No, it's last game or last home game depending on whether the trophy is won by the end of the last home game
Jace Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 If we manage to win it tonight, or even on Sunday, the trophy will definitely be lifted vs Everton won't it? If we win it on Sunday it won't be at the Everton match because the match would have already happened.
StanSP Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 this won't happen at Everton. they won't be able to get us off the pitch
ClaphamFox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 No, it's last game or last home game depending on whether the trophy is won by the end of the last home game Ah ok - I very much hope we can do it at home. I was misinformed - 5live on the way home yesterday were saying that Prem rules meant it would be at Chelsea irrespective of whether we won it before.
Jace Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 this won't happen at Everton. they won't be able to get us off the pitch I think you're probably right, I've always been against pitch invasions especially when our fans in the past have had a habit of wanting them for ridiculous reasons, but if Huth were to score the winner in the last few minutes with a bullet header to win the title I think it'll be well warranted this time

I don't think you will get an "official" position on it due to the parties involved not wanting to be seen to be pre judging the situation but there are numerous precidents for it being done at the last home game of the title is secured
StanSP Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I think you're probably right, I've always been against pitch invasions especially when our fans in the past have had a habit of wanting them for ridiculous reasons, but if Huth were to score the winner in the last few minutes with a bullet header to win the title I think it'll be well warranted this time if anyone scores the winner! Guaranteed tears of joy if Kingy does it, though. it'll be quite amusing when the PA tries to get the message across to 30000 fans not to celebrate winning the title by running on the pitch!
stretch1965 Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 Can you believe we are actually having a discussion about lifting the prem cup? Bring tissues boys
Jace Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I'm still hoping its tonight anyway, I know its not the most glorious way to win it but winning is winning and we may still fail to beat Everton and Chelsea
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I'm still hoping its tonight anyway, I know its not the most glorious way to win it but winning is winning and we may still fail to beat Everton and Chelsea They won't be lifting the trophy tonight
ClaphamFox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 They won't be lifting the trophy tonight Actually not true. A special directive has been issued allowing John Terry to lift it on our behalf. He's already got his Leicester kit just in case
Pasturesfox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I really hope the young idiots who tried to run on the pitch when we won the championship don't do it again, ruined the day for the vast majority of the fans I can remember the look on a couple of their faces when they ran 10 yards on to the pitch, looked back and realised that they were being booed by their fellow supporters I have waited too long for this day to be ruined
foxes161 Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 hopefully we lift it win or lose on saturday..providing spurs fail to win
st albans fox Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 interesting one We all want to see the trophy presented at the KP However, the whole presentation ceremony is choreographed and if supporters aren't in their seats then it won't be done . So invading the pitch is great for ....... Well not sure exactly what for but some seem to get a kick out of it. I did it after we got promoted under Wallace so maybe it's a youth thing. Anyway, the point is, if it doesn't look as though it can happen after the match because the pitch has been invaded and the police and stewards don't feel they can restore order quickly enough, then I guess it will be postponed till the following week. there will be Barclays and PL people there who want to get back to London and they won't hang around for an extra hour. I don't recall the citeh fans invading the pitch when Aguerro scored. Not completely sure why a winner on Saturday that gets us over the line (when we have another fixture to do that) would elicit such an over emotional response. Can't we just hug each other? (But then I'm the miserable git re the paperstorm so I have form). maybe once we have had the presentation, and the players and their families have done their thing (and we have all shown ngolo and Riyad how much we want them to stay), then the pitch invasion thing can happen and we can dance around in celebration. Oh and Saturday - paperstorm - yeah, abso feckin lutely !!!!! btw, invading pitches is a bit 'small club syndrome' ??? Discuss.

Oh and Saturday - paperstorm - yeah, abso feckin lutely !!!!! btw, invading pitches is a bit 'small club syndrome' ??? Discuss. I definitely remember a pitch invasion after Aguero's goal, in 2012. I also remember the empty threats over the tannoy about there being no presentation if the fans stay on the pitch. If there was a pitch invasion, it would last no longer than 10 minutes which isn't really going to affect 'Barclays or PL people' and they won't leave and miss out on all the PR that comes with a Premier League trophy presentation just to save one hour. I'm not arsed either way about a pitch invasion. If it happens I'll join in, if not, I'll enjoy the celebrations.
hejammy Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I really don't see what sense of achievement you get from a pitch invasion? Rebel without a cause? Just to be 'ard? Ffs if there's even a remote chance the presentation won't happen because of a pitch invasion I'll be so pissed. I hope the club go through cctv and ban every "fan" who goes on the pitch
weller54 Posted 2 May 2016 Posted 2 May 2016 I can't why whats wrong? Discussing the lifting of a trophy we haven't actually won yet?
