DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Indeed We will see shortly Numbers wise, think we could see 100-200 thousand turn up We are CHAMPIONS Just feels unreal still I don't think it will sink in until the moment Wes holds the Trophy up. Then I shall believe it.
tom27111 Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 I don't understand why people are moaning? The 16th is probably the only option. Players will be reporting for international duty for the following weekend. As the season has finished, a lot of players will probably have booked holidays to spend with their families. I don't think we can begrudge them that after this season. And yes, the last one was on a bank holiday, purely by coincidence. Public holidays in England aren't decided on the off chance Leicester City win the league and want an open top bus parade. When Liverpool and Chelsea won the Champions League and had bus parades, they were midweek. And at much more short notice. There's a lot more people who would want to see that than Leicester. I live in Luton, I work and go to university. Nothing is going to stop me being there. We've won the bloody league, enjoy it and just get yourself to Leicester for the celebrations.
Elsie Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Town Hall Sq is too small for this; it either has to be Victoria Park or building a temporary stage somewhere like the juntion of Humberstone Gate/Charles St if it had to be in the city. Personally, I think it will be on the evening of Monday 16th. It's the closest logical date around the matches to be played. Seriously doubt it will be this coming Sunday; it's too soon.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Indeed We will see shortly Numbers wise, think we could see 100-200 thousand turn up We are CHAMPIONS Just feels unreal still Same here mate. I think it will easily be those type of numbers. It's gonna take some bloody planning this. Viccy Park could just about be the only venue big enough to take the event.

Like you say maybe Viccy Park?
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 I've been told the club are announcing something in the next few days about it? Can't remember where I heard that though? Like you say maybe Viccy Park? This thing is massive.... I think it's very very likely we'll be seeing people turning up not only from Leicester. There will be the glory hunters wanting to just get on the tele and those just wanting to party. It could easily turn out to be the biggest event, numbers wise, EVER staged in the City. As I said, that's gonna take some bloody planning!

Wymsey Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 My sister is a police officer based around city centre and said that arrangements have already made for the parade for the 16th, but tour routes being kept secret for a few more days.
AndWhat? Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 My sister is a police officer based around city centre and said that arrangements have already made for the parade for the 16th, but being kept secret for a few more days. She's rubbish at keeping secrets
lcfc278 Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 If you remember how many thousand people turned up in the city centre and on the coffin route for Richard III, one dead old King (although he is a city fan) imagine how many thousands are going to descend into town when they get a chance to see 20-odd actual living legends and the premier league trophy. This is going to be insane and regardless of it being on a Monday, the city is well in party mode at the moment and it will not deter anyone from coming. Get the bus, walk, run, crawl, it doesn't matter. This is HUGE!
glar84 Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 May 16th in Victoria park. All the people turning up to see Travis at De Montfort Hall that evening will have fun trying to get through 100,000 people to get there haha
SpacedX Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 Public holidays in England aren't decided on the off chance Leicester City win the league and want an open top bus parade. That's all about to change in the future.

Well they are not keeping it that secret really When I was shown the route i was surprised the super sleuths on here hadn't figured it out already

For sure, my mate went down the KP last night and met some mad head Aberdeen fan who had drove all the way down from Scotland with his wife just to be at the KP. He was pissed out his face ranting on about Ali mauchlen saying he was the best ever Leicester player and he's the reason we won the league

Without a doubt there will also be many many there who don't have the faintest clue about football. No that that's a problem, but it'll up them old numbers.

ScouseFox Posted 4 May 2016 Posted 4 May 2016 at night on the 16th will be great. not sure why we'd want to wait over two weeks to celebrate? these things are always on the monday after aren't they? i remember being in liverpool for the istanbul one. thursday night. pretty sure about three quarters of a million people were there. there was a buzz from about 3 in the afternoon until the early hours the next day. this'll be no different. monday night was a monday night and everyone had fun didn't they?
