jonthefox Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 My view on bandwagon jumpers is simple. Bring it on . Buy your shirts ,programmes and scarfs etc. Then the club will be flooded with £ and i can watch a £17 million striker from the comfort of the same seat i've had for the last 8 seasons.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 I know about half a dozen people who had virtually no interest in football until a couple of years ago and who are now avid City followers, and I think it's great. My Dumbarton-supporting Scottish neighbour is watching the game tonight, as are a Californian couple who have absolutely no interest in any kind of sport - apart from City. Frankly, I don't buy any of this old bollox about "You ain't a proper fan until [............fill in the gap according to choice..........]. I'm really pleased that we have become known worldwide, and that people find out story inspirational, and if they want to wear our replica shirts, then good luck to them. OK, maybe they'll bugger off when we start losing, but maybe not. Does it matter? Spot on. It's only the children who blabber on about this. PLASTIC KIDDIES.

UPinCarolina Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 I almost feel guilty, given that I only started really enjoying the Premier League and watching Leicester in the fall of 2014. How can I celebrate when I haven't gone through half the shit you all have? I can truthfully say, however, that Leicester is the one and only football club at any level that I've ever thrown my lot behind. That said - I've enjoyed this season on FoxesTalk immensely. Thanks to all posters for providing a sense of community surrounding this club and making match day viewing an interactive affair (even if that community is spread out across the world)
purpleronnie Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 I get it from my brother in law (forest fan), I guess it's the only comeback they've got even though they know its not true, boring response but I don't care we're champions they're shit.
Frankston fox Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 I have heard this a bit this week but it's probably people who don't know me well enough, l love this team and don't care what anyone says.
Fordey1973 Posted 7 May 2016 Author Posted 7 May 2016 It's all good. Love to you all and enjoy the day
Biggus Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 I've been going regularly since 11/12 season. Went to a few games with my son and just enjoyed it so carried on. Then the bandwagon came along, picked me up and swept me along - had no choice!! But what a ride.
limeydale Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Don't support teams that finish 4th mate But they won the League in February. lol

I've had the same thought but could never articulate it so succinctly.
Carl the Llama Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Had some random middle-aged man try to gauge if I'm a true fan by bringing up some match against his now league 2 team from long before I was even born. He of course knew nothing about us during my own lifetime. Love these veiled accusations - it only proves how massive we are.

Also I may add that it is rich to be called a glory hunter by a fellow American in a Man United jersey.
americanfox Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Same. I've had the same thought but could never articulate it so succinctly. Describes me too. Also I may add that it is rich to be called a glory hunter by a fellow American in a Man United jersey. It doesn't matter when you join, it's that the club chose you and you didn't choose the club. It's not fair that anyone to have a pissing argument about who's been a fan for how long. All the matters is that you care now, care in the future, and respect our history. I take a problem with those (such as on /r/soccer) who are Leicester "fans" and say they've been through the bad because last year was "bad" -- that's an insult to those of us who have truly been through the bad. As long as we can all put this in perspective and appreciate that "history makes us who we are", the more the merrier!
roblcfc84 Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 Luckily at work I've had a lcfc mug with me for ages and all my mates have been through it with me since school despite moving to the north east when I was 8 - but some new guy at work had the cheek to say I bet you only started supporting them this week - I said Hartlepool away JPT enough said

westwinds31 Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 I haven't lived in Leicester for 26 years but still have connections there. Can't get to any games, went to Chelsea at home last season and was in the Everton end yesterday. Fantastic day ! I kept thinking back to Chelsea at home in 1979, when Larry May got the winner and I witnessed some of the worst trouble I've seen in and outside a football ground. Andy Peake's belter when we beat Liverpool 2-0. Cambridge away in the early 80s....watching the rise of the Lineker/Smith partnership. For people who were around n those days, yesterday was magical.
