No smoke without fire. If you don't look for trouble or let yourself react 99% of the time you won't find it. not necessarily. the guy who hit him is an absolute **** whatever the case. Hardly looks like they're having a massive argument or proper going for each other.

the fox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Tell you what, those little taps that Barkley gave that man didn't scream "friendly" to me, the way he put his hand on the other man's shoulder bringing him down a little can be interpreted as a hostile act, especially when you add the music, the alcohol can make people agitated, the way the other man took a step back and lowered his chin was defensive, and that little tap on the chin was what triggered the man, I don't like cheap shots, but if the talk between the two was heated then he should've put his guards up. I could be reading too much into it, so I will be waiting for more details on the incident.

It would be the worst bar in the world if there was no alcohol or music though to be fair, so I think it's a pretty safe assumption.

It's condescending if someone does that to you who is a stranger or does that without the permission to do that (like a relative or friend). It's obvious it wasn't a friendly conversation and the little tap on the face was probably the trigger point for the guy punching him.

For some reason I imagined people just dancing in a slow tempo and drinking water with no music and this pic popped on my mined???

Add to that the fact Barkley is a famous English player, and by reputation, that would be a recipe for disaster, and imagine being the guy that K.O'd one of the big names in english football, no doubt some of his mates will look to him as a big shot now.

I meant that music in the bar is unlikely to have a bearing on whether someone gets up in your face or makes you want to argue with someone/punch someone in the face. I'd presume words were said between the two and who knows what was said. But I doubt it was because of a song playing in the bar

Just edited my comment, but imagine this, you have a nickname that you don't like but you don't usually get mad at people for saying it, now imagine you had a couple and you are in a bad mood, there are some really heavy noises and a guy is just Pocking you and saying "listen here, stany boy" "its not like this, stany boy" "you shouldn't have done that, stany lad" and keeps on touching you and he suddenly touches your face, tell me he doesn't deserves to kiss the hand.
ARTY_FOX Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 It doesn't look like Barkley is even doing anything aggressive there. In fact it looks more like a 'Sorry I don't want any trouble' kind of thing to me

Confrontational words etc. it's all speculation as we've both said previously. For me, Barkley does nothing wrong and it looks like the guy who's punched him can expect a GBH charge when police get hold of him, even if Barkley did utter some words he didn't like.

Hope it was just a little misunderstanding in the heat of the moment, last thing English players need is to have the public look at them the wrong way just because one of them did/say something stupid.
