StanSP Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 if someone touches my face, my first reaction isn't to pull a right hook and try and knock the guy out . you have to be really insecure and temperamental if that's your first resort. Looks like Barkley barely even touched his face anyway.

Going on holiday in May and I've made peace with missing the Watford game but I really want to go to this. I'm convinced it'll be the penultimate game. Every weekday this month is already taken up. Then the next two weeks in May are for the semi finals, not necessarily playing in them but I think there's a rule anyway that we'd not be allowed to play the game as a result of the CL games on the same night, either that or you get fined if you do, which is absolutely disgraceful. Even then without confirmation that we'll be playing in those games until next week at the earliest they might just play it safe and make it that date I said anyway. So I expect Tues 19th or Weds 20th. I wouldn't put it past them to give us Thursday 14th May and then have Man City away moved to Sunday. They're doing more and more of that kind of nonsense recently.
the fox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Stan must have a high level of tolerance or he is just too old to play along with people looking for trouble, but I agree, a right hook won't be my first choice, I will take the slimani approach, a header has more chance of hitting the target accurately

I meant that music in the bar is unlikely to have a bearing on whether someone gets up in your face or makes you want to argue with someone/punch someone in the face. I'd presume words were said between the two and who knows what was said. But I doubt it was because of a song playing in the bar That's rubbish Stan, the kind of emotions Taylor Swift evokes can easily lead to fisticuffs.

Good for you for not getting too carried away, but for me, from where I'm from, if a man who doesn't really know you put his hand on your face (which is one of the most disrespectful things to do) he is a fair game, if he wants to talk, he should use his mouth, its more psychological, someone invading your personal space and touching you can be looked to as a sign of that man trying to show that he is the more dominant person (what people call an alpha), I know it looks like I'm reading too much into it, but I know people that do that to check you (like the Americans like to call it), today he is touching your face, tomorrow he will be slapping you.
the fox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 , And not even mentioning the sly digs from pool fans
ajthefox Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Barkley is a shit and I'm hardly gutted for him, but just because someone says something provocative it doesn't mean you can go and lamp them. I don't think the face touching is appropriate but that still doesn't make it ok to just smack him. I understand why it happens, but that doesn't mean it's ok. Worth noting that Barkley isn't pressing charges. Not sure why you wouldn't if it was completely "unprovoked" as his lawyer has claimed.
lestajigs Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Sounds good at palace tbf, probally one loudest I've heard on tv in a while

Depends on the context. If I were having a debate with someone and they touched my face, I'd just assume they were mentally ill, and push them away, but would unlikely hit them, unless it was more a grab, then a knee to the nether regions would be the calm, collected and civilised response. GO CRYSTAL PALACE AND THE SCHLUPPMEISTER.
Sammy Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 5 and a half years since Arsenal have turned around a 1-0 deficit at HT away from home, if there was ever a stat to show the mental fragility of the club in recent times..
Tuna Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Play like we did yesterday and Palace are caning us on Saturday.
HesNotGudjonsonn2 Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 Why would you think we would? I don't know why anyone is moaning about yesterday. We played a weakened team as we have a massive game coming up. A lot of the players weren't playing 100%, I don't blame them, as we have a massive game coming up. Also put yourself in their shoes. Upcoming is said massive game which may only be the only opportunity for these players to ever play in this stage of this tournament and they may have really wanted to prevent injuries. Makes sense to me. I think Shakey played it right for the Everton game.
Melbourne Fuchs Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 I feel sorry for Wenger in the same way that the non-Leicester supporting public must have felt sorry for Claudio.
Vacamion Posted 10 April 2017 Posted 10 April 2017 The Wenger Out brigade will be going mental again. Hirers of bi-planes and long printed banners will be rubbing their hands...
