ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 haha mental. like off the scale how mad this all is. has this ever happened before? don't uefa usually think an extremely harsh punishment is to fine their fa like 6 grand? kick them out . pretty impressive.
StanSP Posted 14 June 2016 Author Posted 14 June 2016 Which is absolute bollockś really don't you think? Is it going to take a fan being murdered before anyone actually does anything about it. If uefa wanted to they could throw them out. Regardless of where these incidents happen. They're just pussyfooting around them giving them warning after warning for whatever reason. The fact that Russian MP's are applauding the violence and encouraging them to carry on surely could be considered as enticing hatred/violence? oh don't get me wrong, I think it is bollocks as well. But I guess there's all kinds of legal limitations and legislation they have to abide by. UEFA can't be the authority to deal with what happens on the streets - you'd hope that'd be left in the hands of the French security, which aren't hired by UEFA. French security, from the sounds of it, have been underwhelming and pathetic in dealing with all the trouble that has been going on. Being heavy-handed towards the wrong sets of fans.
Finnegan Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Still pretty sure Lithuanians don't speak with a heavy Edinburgh brogue. I'd challenge you on that but you're probably a big enough travel hipster to have actually been to Lithuania.
ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I'd challenge you on that but you're probably a big enough travel hipster to have actually been to Lithuania. i know a lithuanian bird and she doesn't sound scottish. sounds kinda sexy.
Dodgy Bob Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 So a "suspended disqualification" is actually just a warning, just like the one they've already issued. What's the point in this?
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 We tend to think of Vladimir Putin as being most politically vulnerable from the left — from the liberal, western-orientated professionals who came out in their hundreds of thousands on the streets of Moscow and St Petersburg three years ago to protest at Putin’s third term. But in truth Putin’s real vulnerability is from the right — from the racist football fans who rioted unchecked through central Moscow in 2010 and from militaristic ultra–conservatives on the Russian religious right. Marseille is potentially an event that was staged and planned to embarrass Putin and put the World Cup 2018 at risk ! If there is more trouble in the ground tomorrow I would think that confirms this is an anti-Putin event All may not be as it seems , something more sinister than just a few hundred Nazi hooligans collecting the ultimate badge of power (wiping out the English) might be at play here
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Why have we been warned with being kicked out then if we can only be evicted if we cause trouble in the ground which we evidently haven't done? What was our warning for? The trouble in the days leading up to the game? But that wasn't in the ground? I'm confused. Hopefully we'll be ok but wouldn't surprise me if we get done too at some point. We have been warned they have had a suspension issued and suspended It's my understanding UEFA cannot act on incidents beyond the boundaries of their responsibility
ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 So a "suspended disqualification" is actually just a warning, just like the one they've already issued. What's the point in this? they got told off and to stop it. now theyve got their yellow card, any more and they're off. let's be honest there is literally 0% chance that uefa are going to ban anyone from the tournament. warnings, suspended disqualifications, dead people on sticks in the away end, russian politicians cheering them on. it won't really matter, nobody's gonna get banned for fan behaviour.
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 i know a lithuanian bird and she doesn't sound scottish. sounds kinda sexy. As that the one that works in the Flat off Fosse road north ?
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 they got told off and to stop it. now theyve got their yellow card, any more and they're off. let's be honest there is literally 0% chance that uefa are going to ban anyone from the tournament. warnings, suspended disqualifications, dead people on sticks in the away end, russian politicians cheering them on. it won't really matter, nobody's gonna get banned for fan behaviour. UEFA and FIFA at war Russia could be collateral damage in that I firmly believe if Russians kick off inside the ground at their next two games then the next day Russia will be removed from the tournament UEFAs credibility is at stake here
Merging Cultures Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 So a "suspended disqualification" is actually just a warning, just like the one they've already issued. What's the point in this? I was typing the same thing. They haven't got a 'suspended disqualification', they have a warning to not do it again or they will be disqualified. The article on Sky talks of lifting the suspension, i.e. they'd be disqualifed, but that just seems like poor English to me, but then so do most legal terms and documents. When someone says, the suspension is lifted, it sounds like they are allowing someone to do something.
Merging Cultures Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 UEFAs credibility is at stake here I think the horse bolted a long time ago!!
Captain... Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Which is absolute bollockś really don't you think? Is it going to take a fan being murdered before anyone actually does anything about it. If Uefa throw them out the tournament then they will kick off in the streets of France, you can't round up all the fans and send them home just like that, best solution for now is try to control them and hope the threat of disqualification keeps them in check.
StanSP Posted 14 June 2016 Author Posted 14 June 2016 Points 8 and 9 probably the most important. This is unbelievable. How the fvck was it 50/50?!
ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 this one sums it up really. they know they aren't getting kicked out.
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I think the horse bolted a long time ago!! True I mean around these incidents and punishment at this tournament
ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I think the horse bolted a long time ago!! probably still there on your tele though pal
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 "Angels" Sunderland levels of delusion over there.
MPH Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Load of English boys should go undercover in Russian garb and kick off at their next game Or everyone could just behave and watch the football...
Finnegan Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Or everyone could just behave and watch the football... Don't be ridiculous.
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Or everyone could just behave and watch the football... England have a reputation to maintain It's just now that reputation includes getting battered by men wearing bumbags
Merging Cultures Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 probably still there on your tele though pal Haha! Takes a long time for the signal to reach down here!
Guest MattP Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Guy on my Twitter timeline has it right. This is giving Putin a "mess with Europe" card, as well as a bonus "Russia against the World" card. It wouldn't be surprising if he is paying their airfare back to get this to kick right off... Spot on, Putin has played off that for years and he'll be enjoying this. Putin's support in Russia is absolutely huge ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_presidential_election,_2018) it runs at between 65% and 80% depending on which poll you read with second place not even hitting double digits. I still failt to see any scenario in which they are kicked out though, I just don't believe for one minute UEFA have the balls to enact this, if it happened it would also surely mean the World Cup would be taken off them.
GaelicFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 They are rounding them up Nice to see the Russians are taking over the "no surrender" call ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3640424/French-police-intercepts-coach-50-Russian-football-fans.html
