sylofox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 No not an over reaction. Chelsea Liverpool and Arsenal twice not bad for anyone let alone us. But with Hull in such a state this one really hurts (feels like relegation) With no disrespect we got what we deserved they done a Leicester on us. So as I said no over reaction but this is going to be CR's and the teams hardest week ever. I personally thought at times we looked disjointed finishing was poor. Our passing was like watching England over hit under hit or just wayward most of the game. IMO it was the basics that really cost us today.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Was similar to watching England as you say. Unintelligent clueless football in final third
Matt Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Listen i'm pissed off and angry. Today was sickening, but it could be a 'good' result really, I think last season when we got beat we used it to push us on. Today was hopefully a kick up the backside, it's gonna be tough with the games coming up, and I am not for one second making excuses, it's inexcusable today, but i'm just hoping to take a positive from it that it will give us a wake up call and kick up the backside.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Worst I've seen us play in a long time. Even bottom of the league we never played with the lack of cohesiveness and inability on the ball I saw today against an opponent that is so lacking. Probably the worst performance since Barnsley away in 2012/13.
lgfualol Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 And anybody that expressed any worry about the effect of those pre-season losses got shit on here.
pazzerfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Today was a different test. Hull sat back and said "come on...lets see what you've got". Unfortunately we didn't have much. Our pace was nullified against a team that sat back and we didn't have the guile and craft to create any clear cut chances in the second half! When playing against a team like Hull it is imperative not to concede....let alone concede sloppily....but we gave them 2 sloppy goals, and they duly obliged by defending with their lives. What concerned me was the lack of creativity in the final 3rd. Teams will sit back against us now and we have to find different ways to win these football matches. We are now more likely now to get counter attacked, rather than us doing the counter attacking.

Gray was unlucky (perhaps our best player) yes Mahrez got double team but did not look in the game. We really have to step up this season but on that showing we have took many steps back. As I said in the pre match thread today was the must win game of the season. All our nightmares will be in tomorrow's press and motd tonight. Not worried but on paper that was the easiest start any champions have had. Now our players need to step up we are here to be shot at.
StanSP Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 'feels like relegation' ffs get a fvcking grip. it's one game in to a new season. calm the fvck down and stop over-reacting.

I don't have doom and gloom and not over reacting. But as champions playing a club in turmoil we should have won. Have I slagged off or slatted anyone. But not living in our great city or county I'm getting slammed by every cvnt. Yes today it feels like we have been relegated as unlike you homies I live amongst spuds manc's of both typegooners and chelski. Yes everyone is taking the piss like we had just gone down. over reaction is like Rudzy or whatever he's called slagging off mahrez and saying get rid.

We won the league three months ago, at their expense, and you feel like we've just been relegated because a few glory supporters are taunting you about Leicester losing one game to Hull?

Yes last seasons gone. As the old saying goes your as good as your last game. ours was a 2-1 defeat to the worst prepared side to start a prem season. We now have to suffer a week of one season wonders and the only champions to lose first day the following season. If as a City fan that don't make you feel down I don't want to be around when a defeat does. Not over reacting have not slagged anyone off none of our team turned up and not blaming CR either. But that was not good enough and better teams than Hull will do the same but better.
tyfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I worry that losing can become habit forming and the sheer f***ing bone idolness towards basics today has left me gutted. I hope this is a kick up the arse and we come back stronger
Guest bennytwohats Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Honestly you are in for a long season if you are going to let the likes of United/Chelsea fans get to you. What we acheived last season was phenomenal - that can't be the bar. The sooner people get used to that the better in my opinion. That said we clearly weren't good enough today. Performance was definitely a worry. Long way to go yet though - let's not overreact.

It doesn't feel like we've been relegated at all lol. Hey everyone, we're Premier League Champions. We've lost our first game of the season. But yeah, this feels like May 2008 and the lead up to that moment all over again

Today's match gives me more questions than answers, and that's a concern. How are we going to fill the Kante space? What is Amerty's best position? Should we continue with 442? Should Mahrez be sold/dropped? Is Gray/Kapu good enough to start? Can Musa really play with Vardy? Do we have a plan B? If teams have found us out and we have no plan B I'm very worried and don't think losing to Hull has any positives. Football is a confidence game and we will only go into the Arsenal match with less confidence than we had today. Our success last season was down to organisation and fitness, today we couldn't and pre-season we couldn't even take a short corner properly. My only hope is Ranieri has a plan but judging by his reaction/comments today I'm a little worried.

Felt like England in a tournament. All the ball and clueless and hit and hope play. Think we suffered from having too much of the ball. But movement and options were so poor today
