linemakers Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 How many people had trouble getting into ground on Saturday. I went with my daughter and got in but she did not. She had to go round to ticket office where they said we had cancelled out ticket for the game? She said this was rubbish and they gave her a ticket and rock season ticket from her saying they would put one in post. Whilst I waited in ground for her I saw at least 10 other season ticket holders have the same problem. Was this just a problem in j block or all round the stadium
AKCJ Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Queues were quite big to get in (never have to queue normally) at 32-37. No bother actually getting in but there was obviously some sort of hold up.
StanSP Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 Not that much of a queue in C2 about 2.30. Was very smoky in the concourse though

VLC86 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 i didnt have trouble but for the first match i had an issue, well sort of. i moved seats for this year but somehow picked up last years season ticket..... and they bloody worked lol! Probably one to be aware of if buying a ticket using a season ticket card as you might get in the ground but might not have a seat.

boots60 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I have trouble getting in the gate most games. This, however, is not the fault of the club as I'm 29 stone
LutterworthLCFC Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 I had this problem for the Bournemouth game on New Year's Day, they had resold my seat(SK1) and gave me a new ticket for the east stand. Walked over to my normal seat and no one was there. The club weren't really phased by it.
Filbert1962 Posted 28 August 2016 Posted 28 August 2016 My sons season ticket, which worked perfectly well last week, didn't work yesterday. The stewards told us we had to go to the ticket office to sort it out. The ticket office is on the other side of the stadium to where we sit (block H). When we got to the ticket office there was quite a queue of people seemingly with similar problems. It took about 10 - 15 minutes to get to the window and get the problem "sorted". Both season tickets were taken from us and we were given paper replacements. We ran back to the turnstile like loons but still missed the beginning of the match. I can't understand why the stewards can't operate the turnstile in such circumstances. I was going to email Jim but wonder if its worth the effort, if he has already acknowledged the problem. This is the 2nd time we've had trouble getting through the turnstiles, it really needs sorting by the club.

I suppose they can't know the reason why the card isn't working, and there is not much they can do except direct you to the ticket office. I assume the club have the facility to "block" a supporter's card - maybe for non payment of some other breach of rules so it is right that the stewards do not have the power to override this. Incidentally someone who used to work at the club told me that during the last season at Filbert Street, there was a problem with the card entry system which meant that basically any card would grant access. No one wanted to spend the money to fix it so they just kept it hush assuming that people would notice there was a problem.
Countryfox Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 We were a bit slow getting in for this one ... and I nearly put this in the'What grinds my gears' thread .... when some twonk waits till he's just about to go through before rummaging through every pocket looking for his ticket ... I have to bit my lip ....
Filbert1962 Posted 29 August 2016 Posted 29 August 2016 Fair play to Jim - I wrote to LCFC Help last night and he has responded this morning (his day off) with an apology. The system had been checked prior to the Arsenal game and declared OK, however, the club acknowledges that this wasn't the case and affected cards have been taken off supporters and will be tested and re-issued over the next few days. Unfortunately if there are future problems with tickets at the turnstile the only solution is through the ticket office, which is inconvenient when the office is on the opposite side of the ground to where I sit. For future matches I will be at the turnstile a minimum of 30 minutes before kickoff!
