Hi there.

I normally park off Aylestone Road as I usually go back to my Mum's in Lutterworth after games.  However for the Champions League games I'll need to head straight back to North Wales, so I am planning to park off Narborough Road, where I always used to. I have a vague recollection of reading about a residents only parking scheme being introduced in this area - does anyone know if I can still park on the side streets to the right of Narborough Road, before the Upper ton Road junction (see attached map)

Thanks.

Yes, there are places you can park for free after 6pm

Thanks Dr The Singh!

So is the area around Noel Street and the street at right angles to it not affected by the resident's parking scheme. I'm not sure if that was further north, past the Upperton turn?

I used to park there no problems for years, apart from one parking ticket from am overzealous traffic warden for allegedly parking too close to the junction.

Past the Upperton turn is pretty much Residents Only now. Go with Dr The Singh's advice.

Majority around there is residents only, but there a segments for paid parking or free parking after 6pm.  However on match days it will be busy, so be there 6pm sharp

For future travels - I use justpark , its a great app and website where you rent someones drive. It costs anything from £3-£10 depending where you are going or to what venue, but its really good and cheaper than any parking ! I parked @St Albans right next to the train station and got train to Wembley for peanuts ! When you pay its for 24hrs as well. (i know this wont work for Narb Rd) Just letting you know.

Used just park many times, it's very good, paid £4.40 to park overnight next to new street station, where it would cost £24 normally

I bring my own poppers.

I stuck one of these under my nose but I can't say it did anything for me.8914240.jpg?392

Castle Street and Castle View. Unlimited parking after 4pm (may be 5 or 6pm now).

The Newarke and The Gateway - free parking after 6.

There are a few off Gosling Street / Deacon Street / Grange Lane - free after 6.

All these are city side of the canal. I think Eastern Boulevard is free after 6.

If you want a quick getaway - it's a case of trial and error, you need to factor in walking distance and traffic (further you walk less traffic but longer to get to your car).

I would probably say Castle Street / Castle View with Tudor Road as a back up (easy access to A47 to A50 to M1 without gridlock).

Don't listen to the fellas that work there! If you download the phone app to pay for NCP car parks it costs £6 for 3 hours. I'm sure something dodgy is going on with the whole £10 match day parking.

I think Webbo meant the gravel car park on the side of Welford Rd which is still a bit rubbish, not the NCP.

I've parked on the gravel car park for years and it's always been £5 but low and behold since the start of this season they've hiked it up to a tenner.

From now on I'll do what was suggested above and use that app to park for less on the NCP on the other side of Welford Rd.

Further back near the bridge near Winchester Avenue/Imperial Avenue there's usually parking for free after 6pm on those streets and the side streets off those.

If I drive down I park up the top end of Barclay street off Narborough Road and walk down. Only takes about twenty minutes and by the time you have walked back after the game the traffic has normally calmed down.

I always used to park there a few years ago, right side of the ground and not long to wait getting out of it, since they cut it in half I've not been back but £3 to a tenner is some jump.

Weren't they planning a multi story on the site some years ago?

It always used to be full as well, I bet it wasn't a quarter full the other Saturday.

Yes, the lines of cars went for ages, but you always got out quickly, I haven't been since the season we played Forest away last day, can't remember the year now lol 2013?

I train it in now.
