You know what? The more people suggesting Chilwell at LB and Fuchs at LW l, the more I like the sound of it...

Chilly proved a lot of people wrong yesterday.

It would be the other way around for me. Chilwell looked great going forward and I'd back Fuchs to be a bit more solid in the long run.

Doesn't matter anyway as we'll never change formation.

Definitely our MOM today. great going forward, lots of pace and kept seasoned Everton Pros in check. Only error............didnt tell that lazy lump Slimani to do one when he ranted at him.

Well played Ben !

In what was another poor team performance, he had a marvelous game! Don't think he put a foot wrong for me and played with confidence and belief that defied his age.

Hard to knock Fuchs out of the team because he is so solid, but great to know we have what appears to be a top class English player coming through.

Wow! One good game and suddenly a player is the Messiah who's going to save the season.

He's perfectly capable of playing as badly as he did against Porto, much as many of the players who have been poor are capable of playing as well as they did against Man City.

Our problems are far more complex to solve than picking the player who did well in the last game and one good game does not make someone a legend.

Don't think it's about being a Messiah. It's just exciting seeing an academy player come through who performs like that in his first ever Premier League match.

So happy to hear he's played well, hopefully now he's got a taste and proved he can step up, he will get more match time. The worst thing now would be for Ranieri to not play him apart from an FA Cup third round appearance with the dregs again.

He's the Messiah alright & I should know, I've followed a few ;)

Posting from the other thread as it's more relevant here!

He's been fabulous in his last two games. If you compare his performances against Chelsea (EFL cup) and Porto, he's raised his game to another level in a short space of time. I always defend Amartey for being 21 and playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world. Well today this lad went up against Dimitri Payet and ended up on the winning side. I was just willing him to score near the end, which would have been richly deserved. Very exciting to see his development and it gives us a real conundrum to solve because Fuchs is a very consistent performer and fan favorite too. Not only has this kid got potential, but on the basis of these last two performances, he could already be a regular left-back in the PL. He looked absolutely shattered at the end of the game, so think we will rotate him out. But he will be given chances for sure. Well done the kid!

This also makes me frustrated we haven't seen Kaputska yet. So far we've given Amartey, Gray and Chilwell chances and I would say they have all done as well as any of the other first-team players. Young players will be inconsistent and have bad games, but they need games to get better. It's highly unlikely we can get into Europe now, but a saving grace for our season would be to bed in these young players and give them a real go. I would say that Gray, Amartey and Chilwell are all heavy contenders now to be in the starting line-up every week, and I have great hopes for Ndidi when he arrives.

Just remember to give this lad a break when he inevitably has a weaker performance. It's to be expected at 20 years old!
