crazyleicester Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 To all those who say they cant applaud a returning player who helped us achieve the most amazing feat in our history, I wonder if they cheered when Emile Heskey came back or any other returning players? Sometimes keeping players for the sake of it isnt right. Im glad we kept Mahrez but he doesnt seem to be playing like he was delighted in staying. Kante moved on to one of the biggest clubs in recent prem history and they will be a regular CL club and title challenger. He is also setting up his family for the future. BTW I also dont understand people being negative on players leaving. They talk like all our players are academy products. 99% of what we have has been bought in from somewhere and we will sell 99.9% of ours. I cant remember too many players staying here until retirement Does that mean that we are complaining about the timing of the move or are some being bitter because he said a few good things about the club he moved to when he left to endear himself to Chelsea fans??!! Either way, he helped us win a title and moved us on 20 levels. He hasnt bad mouthed us at all and Im sure he will be forever grateful of his achievements with us and will have some love in his heart when he runs on to the pitch. We should give him a tad of love back and stop trying to act like some bad ass hard core fans. Some in here seem to react like loons when we sell Kante but when United sell Ronaldo, Spurs sell Bale and Modric, Liverpool sell Suarez and Torres and Arsenal sell Henry we should get a sense of perspective.

Marmite Posted 7 January 2017 Posted 7 January 2017 Yes he did a lot for us but at the same time grabbed the cash so probably won't do either

Do you think he was struggling to eat at City? He left because he wants to win more trophies, so far he's been proved right.

Of cause he went for the cash, he had the opportunity to play champions league football for a season and then could of moved on.

Ted Maul Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 No booing or clapping from me. F**k him, he didn't care enough to give us our CL campaign, so I won't give him the time of day.
fuchsntf Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Why would anybody want to boo, or abuse Kante. Are city fans so smallminded.... Is it a macho thing. I see him, I see no reason, to boo him he helped to give us the right to even dream and realise our 1st ever title. He will be remembered as a short time legend with gratitude, by 10s of thousands. Those who boo or abuse him, will remain unremembered, and not understanding football.

The season's not over, but the PL title is smiling at them quite cheerfully. Chelsea is able to contend for the PL title every year and is as well a potential Champions league winner. Why do people mistake ambition with greed? This thread shouldn't even exist. The guy is one of the Impossibles. Love it or hate it, without him there would be no title. He deserves more than a clap.
AKCJ Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Wasn't he also offered 120k to stay here? Pretty sure we matched Chelsea's offer. Fair play to him. He's going to win the League again this season and will probably win a few FA and League cups. Maybe even a Champions League. We're nowhere near Chelsea's level. About time some of our fans realised that.

He will win the league and be playing champions league next season whilst all our bitter short sighted fans turn against our manager and make ***** of themselves.....oh wait, part of that is already happening

I think everybody realises we are nowhere near Chelsea's level but it's kind of like having a dog that you have from a puppy, you train him and are proud of him, then he fvcks off and lives with the next door neighbours because they give him steak for dinner and let him sleep on the sofa. Would you say fair play to him then? And besides that, it's more fun getting a bite on here than one from a dog.
Bert Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Was adamant I'd be booing. But I think when his name gets announced I'll clap. Then every time he touches the ball, boo him. That's what used to happen when an old player returned.

Would you say fair play to him then? It's not really like that though, is it? It's more like we signed a lad for nothing, put in unreal performances every single week, never moaned, never caused trouble and at the end of the season after he won us the league he felt he'd earned a move to one of the elite clubs in the world.
