It's more like we signed a lad for nothing, put in unreal performances every single week, never moaned, never caused trouble and at the end of the season after he won us the league he felt he'd earned a move to one of the elite clubs in the world. 5.6 million was hardly nothing at the time.

daddylonglegs Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 what're peoples reasons for booing him out of interest? For taking a better job offer?

urban.spaceman Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Will love him forever for what he helped us do but his reasons for leaving were so idiotic I genuinely don't think he can understands the magnitude of what he achieved last season. Nothing he ever achieves at Chelsea could possibly compare to what he achieved at Leicester City and for that reason I just feel sorry for him for listening to bad advice and just chasing money.

I think if you look at the league table he made a pretty good decision in footballing terms, hardly an idiotic one.
Swarles Barkley Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Ill say ill boo for now but really ill just sheep it and do what everyone around me does. Thats what winners do...
Kitchandro Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 1 hour ago, daddylonglegs said: what're peoples reasons for booing him out of interest? For taking a better job offer? It wasn't a better job offer. We had champions league football and were champions. Chelsea has neither of those things. Yes it's switched around now but I'd argue that's largely because he left. If he'd stayed I believe we'd have a much more level playing field between the two clubs. His leaving started the regression. You can't argue it wasn't a betrayal considering the vast gap between the two sides at the time and the huge difference since. Clearly he was a hugely significant player. His decision to leave was probably the most insulting transfer decision of all time. Even with us being champions and with European football he still decided they were a better club than us. It's not like they are Real Madrid. There is no forgiving him as far as I'm concerned, expecially since what we've become this season. And I can't believe any real Leicester fan would argue any different. In fact, if you do still worship him I'd argue that's a failing in you as a fan. It shows a huge lack of pride in our great football club.

Aus Fox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I plan on watching the game with a nice cold drink and this on repeat in the background.
FireFox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 4 hours ago, AKCJ said: Wasn't he also offered 120k to stay here? Pretty sure we matched Chelsea's offer. Fair play to him. He's going to win the League again this season and will probably win a few FA and League cups. Maybe even a Champions League. We're nowhere near Chelsea's level. About time some of our fans realised that. Chelsea were nowhere near our level last season. No one in England was. We won the league by 10 points. If we still had Kante, I have no doubt we would be dominating the league. He could have stayed with us and won the league again and a few FA Cups, League Cups, and the Champions League. He left for more money from Chelsea/Adidas.
Raj Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 This season's shortfall shows how much of in impact Kante had in helping us achieve history. He ran like Forrest Gump,he tsvklef like Roy Keane without the fouls he gave the ball to others for us to attack. He never whinged, cried, moaned, was never in the papers for the wrong reasons nd you can tell by the trophy celebrations that he felt uncomfortable under the limelight. He left for a better job, like it or not Chelsea will be competing at the highest level on more occasions than us. He didntbitch us when he left or say HE was the only reason we won the league. I personally will applaud him when his name is announced.....and then boo the little bastard every time he touches the ball!!! LOL( The last bit is joke...I won't boo the little bastard!)
RowlattsFox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I was disappointed but I'd still clap him before the game. During the game he is just another player for the opponent and should be treated like one. He he left on bad terms but I think it was more down to his agent rather than him. He's a likeable bloke who has no affinity to leicester. Don't see the point of getting on his back.
adejo92 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I certainly won't be booing him but also, i won't be on my knees hailing him. It's funny how people are so happy with our achievement yet so bitter at the person who was pinnacle to us winning it because lets be right, we wouldn't have won the league without him. So what if he left for more money? or to win more trophies? football is a short career, do you really think he would stay at leicester against his will just because John who works on checkout 4 at B&Q will be upset if he leaves?
chicagofox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Booing him would be small-minded. Clapping an opposition player (at least before or during the game) makes no sense.
Chico1958 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 The Little French Guy moved on, Upset as I was at the time and it still hurts a little. As a Leicester fan I appreciate his contribution to our best ever season. I wouldn't boo him just because he left but you'll here a loud cheer if we beat Chelsea. And maybe a very smug grin will be on my face for a week or so. We've got two players in, to replace one. They're younger and we made a profit of £2 million. Interested to see our two take on Chelsea's one.
Mezeker Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 His decision to leave is the single biggest reason for our current predicament (as well as CR inability to adapt in preseason to the fact that he was no longer in the team), he was also the most essential player to our run last year. I think we have to decide as a fan base where our aspirations lie, I personally feel like both his decision to leave and CR ineptitude in the transfer market to address our needs deprived us of a one in a lifetime opportunity to catapult us into a different stratosphere. This makes me want to boo him. So i will from the living room.
CosbehFox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Applaud. He was part of a legendary team and a total freak of nature for us last season
The Guvnor Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I shall launch a flip flop at the telly (as I don't want to damage the telly) when he comes onto the pitch but all will be forgiven if he scores an own goal.
foxfanazer Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Probably neither. Respect him for what he did here and he was one of the biggest reasons we won the league but he never really had an affinity with the fans. I know that's probably just his personality but never felt like he was that happy to be here

Yeah which is totally fine, it's admirable that he's not a typical footballer 'lad'. Just never felt a close relationship with Kante and the fans like some players have
