HighPeakFox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Traitor? Go look the word up instead of using such language to describe a man who gave his all, and then was sold at a tidy profit.

Comparisons with other transfers and other legends. 6 pages... why, he isn't even here now. Let it go. He come here, helped us win the league and left for a bigger club. If you want to clap then clap, if you want to boo then boo I doubt anybody else in the ground will care because believe it or not we've got our own players to support. They ain't listening mate .....
Apollo Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 very mixed reception at Stamford Bridge, expect a repeat of that. Although to be fair, he did come over and acknowledge the city fans at the end of that game.
David Hankey Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Why boo him, he's no different to Cambiasso and others who have only been here for one season. Good Luck to him at Chelsea although, unlike the stupid pundit Savage, the title race isn't over!!

M0901 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Wonderful contribution last season, but you really shouldn't cheer him. Perhaps when his name is called before the game, as a sign of respect as his influence was impeccable. But when the whistle goes he's just another Chelsea player. A loud rawr though when Ndidi puts him on his backside ?
Parafox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 uI'll continue to make my point, if that's ok, that, like Lineker and so many others, Kante came here and gave his all for the club during that time, be it 7 years or 18 months. Chants of "Leicester Reject" at Lineker were more of a piss-take than the insult and disrespect booing would show to a player who was absolutely instrumental in our success. We should be grateful he chose to come here first. Why would anyone want to be so bitter as to boo and insult a player who did so much in a short space of time to help us make history. Did anyone with an ounce of football nouse expect Kante to stay with us after his performances here? Those that did were severely disillusioned. I'll applaud him onto and off the pitch at the end to say thank you, but I'll be cheering for my team
Hugo Sanchez Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Think we should get on his back tbh, might knock him off his game. Deserves a boo and in time we'll look back with good memories of him. Still too fresh ATM. Abit like Brian Little, he came back, got booed out of the stadium but now is a club legend and rightly so.

To be absolutely honest PF I don't think he would give a monkeys whatever we do .... He will arrive in a Chelsea cocoon run round for an hour and a half then be back on the coach with a computer game and halfway down the motorway before you finish your first pint. Stop wasting your time worrying about it mate ... I'm sure he isn't.
lcfc old boy Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 is he not just another mercenary footballer, and if carries on playing like he does will go to real madrid or barcelona next year because his savvy agent has a clause in his contract

We genuinely couldn't have done more, we won the bloody league fer christs sake. Didn't expect him to spend the rest of his career with us, but would it have hurt to give us one more season to see how far that team could go?

Yeah I agree with him not giving a toss, but I don't like supporters wanting to have a go at a player simply because he chose to move on with his career. Those on here saying they they're going to boo or whatever other insult they choose, irritate me. I know it'll always happen and that's part of football, but it doesn't sit well with me.
Matt Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Hopefully Ndidi plays so well we don't even think about N'golo. I'm not gonna clap him but unless he gives me a reason to I won't boo him. He's just another player now.
foxtillidrop Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I'm sorry but Kante could have given us another season and made us credible champions league contenders. Top and Vichai would have given him the wages. Let his mates down and we'll always wonder what if. Honestly don't know what my reaction will be on the day after a few beers. He's a legend but i'd rather show my appreciation when he's retired, not when he's wearing a Chelsea shirt. I will applaud Hazard though.
iamafox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I still can't make my mind up whether we're remembering him for helping us win the league or his decision to leave our club

Keep calm and carry on PF, you know it makes sense ! ...
yorkie1999 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Why boo Ronaldo or Rooney or Kane etc, they are brilliant players and have never done anything to us, I'll tell you why, it's to put the player off, Kante is now the heartbeat of Chelsea and anything we can do to make them feel they're in a hostile game and upset them gives us a home advantage, clapping and applauding opposition players is not the thing to do if we have any hope of beating them.

Had he given us another season, his value would possibly have deflated given where we are now. He had the golden opportunity and he took it. No-one can blame him for that.

Our SQUAD WON US the League not Eden Hazard with one shot.

Chelsea has neither of those things. Yes it's switched around now but I'd argue that's largely because he left. If he'd stayed I believe we'd have a much more level playing field between the two clubs. His leaving started the regression. You can't argue it wasn't a betrayal considering the vast gap between the two sides at the time and the huge difference since. Clearly he was a hugely significant player. His decision to leave was probably the most insulting transfer decision of all time. Even with us being champions and with European football he still decided they were a better club than us. It's not like they are Real Madrid. There is no forgiving him as far as I'm concerned, expecially since what we've become this season. And I can't believe any real Leicester fan would argue any different. In fact, if you do still worship him I'd argue that's a failing in you as a fan. It shows a huge lack of pride in our great football club. He was a huge reason we won the premier league title. He's forgiven. Even though he has literally nothing to be forgiven for. He was offered more money, at a bigger, more stable club, with a higher chance of continuing to play Champions League football. I understand the point that he could do what Mahrez is doing and give us one more year, but I absolutely do not blame him for doing what he did.

Unlikely we'd be were we are now given part of the issue has been learning to play without him, and even still top players in mid table sides still get snapped up quickly for good fees - see the constant harvesting of Southampton. I wouldn't boo him, but anyone pretending they werent gutted by him leaving and didn't wish hed given us another season is a liar, pure and simple.
