Just never felt a close relationship with Kante and the fans like some players have admirable in much the same way a woman in a rural village in some third world country makes bread at 6am the same day all her life and finds purpose yes. Past that no.

murphy Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I wouldn't boo him but despite his achievements here I can't think of him with any fondness or warmth. We loved him, he didn't love us back. This thread is obviously relevant with Chelsea up next but after that I propose a new rule for the forum for 2017. Any more mentions of Kante result in an automatic sin bin. So sick of hearing about him.
Alex_LCFC Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Do what utd did when ronaldo returned with madrid. When they say his name out on the tanoy everyone give him a load cheer. When he first touches the ball everyone boo him then after that leave it as a normal game. The cheer shows the appreciation yet the one and only boo shows we dont like the fact he left is for a premier league club.
Maggie's town fox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Neither, will always be remembered for the best player I have seen in a city shirt, however didn't like the way that he wanted to join Chelski and not give us another season,

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 If I were to be at this game I'd applaud him. We won the league last season, the best season in our history and an unbelievable fairytail that just wouldn't have happened without him. He was integral to the piece, and I for one will be forever grateful.
Babylon Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 9 hours ago, Ashley said: Being a Judas and the manner he left he deserves booing. And what manner would that be exactly? Club made a bid, our club accepted (had to), he made a decision it was a better long term bet (it was and he's been proven right). It's his career, he didn't force a move.
norwichfox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Not an issue for me as won't be at the match. Did good for us and left to become one of the mercenaries of the Russian Oligarch....a good profit for us on the sale (which many feel could have been so much better). Only ref's and opposition players making a dangerous play should be booed imo. As a previous poster has written, do we really want to give a lift too an opposition player before the game even starts, quiet would be better.

Legend_in_blue Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 He will get booed by some before the start of the game, you can count on that. If he does something in the game which is a little controversial that he gets away with, he'll be booed even more. I won't clap and I won't boo.
ARTY_FOX Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Don't plan on doing either. Will probably do both.

Old Fox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Applaud him when he warms up or read his name out as he is the best player I have seen of his type in our blue shirt plus probably part of the most successful side we will have.....however when the game starts he's just another opponent who I hope we beat....
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Just won't acknowledge him. No need to boo or clap. Yes he did great things for us, but he also dropped us like a pile of steaming dogshit at the first opportunity. No respect for that I'm afraid.

stripeyfox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I will applaud him. If you do nothing then that is fine. If you boo then you may as well hold a sign up saying "I am a bellend"
Foxes1 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Wont do either I am there to support Leicester City not any ex-players who left for more money.
smiggy6773 Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 I will definitely clap, he was superb last season and deserves some credit.
ian_marshall Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 Why anyone wouldn't show appreciation to N'golo is beyond me. He played a vital role and made a massive contribution in helping us to achieve the impossible. I don't agree with his reasons for leaving and personally think he should have stuck around for the Champions League as if he had, his move to Chelsea could quite easily have been Barcelona or Madrid but I respect his decision as he earned that right. Irrespective of whether or not people agree with his actions there is no denying that he is a Leicester legend as he along with the rest of the squad achieved something no other player in the entirety of our 133 year history has ever achieved. Add the £25m profit (which should have been vastly higher but in fairness he can't be blamed for that as he didn't negotiate the deal and ultimately we agreed to the terms stipulated) we can't grumble too much. Knowing what we know in terms of how both how his and our stories concluded, how many truly would have preferred to have never seen Ngolo Kante in a Leicester shirt?

MrSpaM Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 He deserves credit, but he's not exactly been very grateful about his time here so I can understand why some people would boo Fair enough he's a great player, but there wasn't really any need to be telling the press he was just using us as a stepping stone when he joined chelsea
stevelcfc Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 The people who applaud Hazard are just embarrassing.
theessexfox Posted 8 January 2017 Posted 8 January 2017 8 hours ago, Kitchandro said: It wasn't a better job offer. We had champions league football and were champions. Chelsea has neither of those things. Yes it's switched around now but I'd argue that's largely because he left. If he'd stayed I believe we'd have a much more level playing field between the two clubs. His leaving started the regression. You can't argue it wasn't a betrayal considering the vast gap between the two sides at the time and the huge difference since. Clearly he was a hugely significant player. His decision to leave was probably the most insulting transfer decision of all time. Even with us being champions and with European football he still decided they were a better club than us. It's not like they are Real Madrid. There is no forgiving him as far as I'm concerned, expecially since what we've become this season. And I can't believe any real Leicester fan would argue any different. In fact, if you do still worship him I'd argue that's a failing in you as a fan. It shows a huge lack of pride in our great football club. Jeez, people take football far too seriously if they feel betrayed by a player moving to a new job, especially one with better financial and footballing prospects. Did Kante betray Caen to come to us? Did Vardy betray Fleetwood? Could we call them both Judas for those moves? Transfers and natural progression are a part of football, there is obviously a hierarchy and better players have always moved to bigger and better clubs, I'm just grateful that we got a season out of one of the best players in the world who was a key component of a season beyond our wildest dreams. 5 hours ago, FireFox said: Chelsea were nowhere near our level last season. No one in England was. We won the league by 10 points. If we still had Kante, I have no doubt we would be dominating the league. He could have stayed with us and won the league again and a few FA Cups, League Cups, and the Champions League. He left for more money from Chelsea/Adidas. You're entitled to your opinion but for me, absolutely no chance.
