davieG Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 ......as for the ref how can he justify not booking the 2 players that pulled Vardy back when he was on a run to the goal but then booked Drinkwater for a similar offence?
Guest MattP Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Vardy 9 and MOM Drinkwater, Fuchs and Mahrez 8 All the rest 7 except Ndidi and Simpson who get a 6. Now give it Shaky until the end of the season.
Fox92 Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Kasper 7 Simpson 6 Huth 7 Morgan 7 Fuchs 8 - back to last season's quality Mahrez 8 Drinkwater 7 Ndidi 7 - lost the ball for the goal but all round ok Albrighton 6 - still frustrates me. so wasteful at times and why didn't he dive at the ball to score. Okazaki 7 - his link up is superb we miss him when he goes off/doesn't play Vardy 9 - superb. caused troubles all game. deserved a goal really. Hull City 3 - Silva has made them a bit better but they offer little and were very poor. Be amazed if they stay up Referee Dean 3
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Albeit for a short period, thought Slimani did well when he came on, as did Gray particularly defensively. Vardy & Okazaki impressive again. They're a very good pairing, they compliment each other and it just works.
Bossman Blessed It Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Despite a bad ball, Ndidi was excellent - perhaps not as effective as he was against Liverpool; however he still made a number of key defensive interceptions, a few good tackles, sprayed the ball about brilliantly when most players his age would have bottled it after a bad mistake and drove at Hull a couple of times. Causes an absolute nuisance for opposition defenders from set pieces too which ultimately led to the own goal. With him in the side, Drinkwater can do his thing. An 8 from me...
ZeGuy Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Kasper 7 Simpson 6 Huth 6 Morgan 6 Fuchs 8 Quality. Great link up with Vardy. Mahrez 8 - Finally a bit of magic. Very present on the front, constantly asking for the ball. Put a shift defensively. Best performance so far. Drinkwater 7 - Some wasted passes, but slowly getting back to his best. Ndidi 6 - Blunder that cost us goal. Still quality midfielder and an undisputable starter. Albrighton 6 Works hard but still very wasteful. Okazaki 7 - very good game. Deserves a goal before the end of the season.. Vardy 9 - MOTM. Ran endlessly and set their defense on fire. Quality assist for Fuchs. Great game overall. Gray 6 - Good impact on the wing. Won the corner that brought the third goal. Slimani 6 Hull City 4 - Look way better with Silva but they're going down. Not enough quality to stay up. Referee Mike Dean 7 Had a good game. Never thought I'd say that about him. Shakey (8) for the job for at least the end of the season.
Koke Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Vardy was superb again. God, I have missed this Vardy. Definitely MOTM for me. 7 league goals this season. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets up 12-13 league goals. That will be a decent return considering the team has been utter shambles for 2/3 of the season.
Dickov22 Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Kasper 8 Very important save when it was 2-1 Simpson 6 Did his job without being spectacular Huth 6 Couple of dodgy moments but last two games miles better Morgan 7 Very good from Wes again Fuchs 8 Back to last season form. Quality Albrighton 8 Brilliant performance. So much energy and some real quality in there as well Drinkwater 8 Class- everywhere Ndidi 7 Loses a point for the goal but the amount of interceptions was fantastic Mahrez 7 It's a privilege to watch him Okazaki 7 Put himself about great again Vardy MOTM 9 He's back Slimani and Gray did well when they came on. Even the ref had a good game
foxfanazer Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 One of the most clear cut MOTM decisions. Vardy was tremendous
Maggie's town fox Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Agree with the majority of players scores with Vardy MOTM, however I disagree with anything over a 6 for Okazaki, missed 2 very good chances in front of goal and should have had at least one of them. Maybe I'm being harsh but thought with Okazaki it was like playing with 10 men most of the match, big fan of his but not enough contribution for me.
shen Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Kasper - 7 - Another alert save from Niasse and generally solid performance. Almost prevented the goal with a touch on the cross. A little more contact would've taken it beyond Clucas. Simpson - 7 - Thought he was pretty solid and even got forward a lot more than we are used to seeing. Couldn't keep pace with Grosicki for their goal and was kept under pressure whenever Hull attacked down our right, but coped with it all right. Morgan - 7 - Again another that could've maybe done a little more to stop Niasse, but other than that dealt with crosses well together with Huth. Huth - 7 - Similar to Morgan. He really is shit with his feet though with a shanked effort reminiscent of his Stoke free kick last season and a couple of unsuccesful swings early in the game. Was alert to recycle the ball up to Mahrez' goal, which is probably the most undeserved assist he's ever had! Fuchs - 8 - Verging on a 9. Very solid defensively and our one proper footballer in our back line. So much build up play went through him. Great interplay with Vardy and movement for the goal. Did well scoring with his weaker foot. Decent delivery most of the time too. Mahrez - 8 - Like Fuchs, was close to a 9 for me. Possibly his most allround performance in a Leicester shirt. Was tracking back, making interceptions, dropped deep to build up play, popped up on the left then center then right and kept probing for passes. Most of these were unsuccesful and his first touch wasn't as good as we know it can be, but he still produced some great crosses with his right first half. In the match thread I was a little frustrated that things weren't coming off for him, but to his credit he kept trying and lo and behold, his efforts were rewarded with a brilliant solo effort. I really don't know how he managed to score from there with his weaker foot and little backlift at the near post. So relieved for him and that's another monkey off this team's back. Watch him go on a run now! Ndidi - 7 - Bad mistake for their goal, but having lost the ball so high up the pitch, it's unfair to pin the blame all on him. Got skinned by Clucas too second half which got people criticising him in the match thread, but his head never went down to his great credit. Truth was he had a decent game otherwise. A handful of vital interceptions, great positioning and physical presence in the middle and finally got an 'assist' for the third goal. Drinkwater - 6 - As Finnegan pointed out, he could've prevented the goal had he kept his eyes on Clucas instead of instinctively running to the goal line. Wasn't as imposing as last time around, but combative as ever and did his bit for the win. Tried to repeat the trick from last week and didn't catch the ball too badly. Albrighton - 7 - Another energetic performance with lots of movement and commitment. Didn't quite reach the heights of the Liverpool game, but keep this up Marc! Okazaki - 7 - Typical performance by Shinji. Chased and harried all day. Crucial team contribution made all the more evident by the slump of the previous 6 months. Vardy - 9 MOTM - Seem to remember Ranocchia saying they had made plans on how to stop Vardy. Fair enough, he didn't really get a sniff at goal but he proved just as lethal with his allround play. Was back to his aggressive harrying best and looked lightning quick. Worked the channels superbly and what delightful build-up play for the equalizer. Set up several other chances and I'm a little bit surprised at the level of quality of his crosses/passes. Another player who makes or breaks our playing style. Subs: Gray - 6 - He's a great sub when Albrighton or Mahrez are tired. Fine effort that lead to the corner for the third goal and made an effort defensively as well. Slimani - N/A - Not on long enough to make a telling impact. Ref - 5 - Not great, not shocking either Shakespeare - 9 - Two wins out of two. Little to argue with. He's got the players performing and it's gotten emphatic results. What's not to like? Subs were predictable, but maybe a little on the late side, although I don't feel it warrants criticism.

Alf Bentley Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Schmeichel 7 Our most consistently reliable player this season Simpson 6 Sound enough, but a little vulnerable at times Morgan 6 See Simpson Huth 7 Looking solid recently Fuchs 8 Back to top form, both defensively & going forward Mahrez 8 Tricks to better purpose recently, looking more confident - hope goal gives him a boost Drinky 8 MoM Dominated the game Ndidi 7 Blunder cost goal (though defence should have rescued him), otherwise another strong all-round effort Albrighton 8 Allied much better quality of ball control, passing & crossing to habitual work rate - his best game for a while Okazaki 7 Like Albrighton, habitual bustle but better quality, but needs to anticipate/reach crosses a bit more Vardy 8 He's a more intelligent footballer & much better team player than recognised - some superb passing & interplay Slimani & Gray 6 Contributed positively Shakespeare 8 Give him till the summer & consider him long-term then Hull 5 Certainly not in the worst 3 attacking sides in the division, but in the worst 3 defensively Ref 5 Marked down for reason cited by @davieG - booked Drinky for a professional foul in the centre circle but let off 2 Hull players when Vardy was running at the penalty area!
FredFox Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 Brilliant Vardy - 9.5 from me and definitely MOTM. Albrighton worked so hard - he was everywhere - great attitude too and never gives up - an 8 for him. Would be higher if he'd got on the end of Vardy's excellent cross. Dazzling moments from Mahrez, including a couple of tackles - just needs to keep working harder. 7.5 for him (would have been 6 without the goal). Team spirit and effort = 10 ?

You give Albrighton an 8 and Mahrez a 7.5 (6 without the goal lol). Please explain. Is it the usual workhorse high rating en vogue on this forum? How can you give an 8 to someone who offensively brought little to nothing and whose pass and cross completion is incredibly low? He ain't a FB, he's a winger for god's sake. I can't wrap my head around it. On one hand you have one guy who pulled the strings all the game, scored a cracking goal and even put a defensive shift which is NOT his primary task. Yet he gets a 7.5. On the other you have a percheron who plowed the field well but whose crosses, shots and passes most of the time end by the opposition or in row Z. He gets an 8. Go figure.

No, I respect your opinion but if someone disagrees with me and quotes me directly, I expect they could at least write more than a one sentence comment and tell me why, in this case, Albrighton had a cracking game. I gave my reasons, still waiting for yours.
Topman Posted 5 March 2017 Posted 5 March 2017 albrighton 9 MOTM By far Vardy 8 rest 7 those people gave Mahrez such high marks must be only watching highlights from MOTD, I watch every game live and mahrez been quite disappointing, he has improved last 2 games but nowhere near the standard of last season, before that piece of magic which got us the goal he has been poor and was about to be subbed off for Gray, I sit right next to the bench, after he scored, Gray been told to sit back down, until the goal I thought mahrez was was non existent but the goal gave him some confidence, hopefully is a start of getting the old Riyad2 back, I also think he needs to play on the wing, when he play behind Vardy we lack the energy where shinji process, mahrez not gonna be the one running and chasing players down, against Liverpool and hull when shinji went off, it left too big a gap and the opposition was able to play the ball out and had far too much time.
