davieG Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Leicester City’s brilliant victory over Sevilla on Tuesday night wasn’t covered hugely by the Spanish sport newspapers. Of course, there were match reports, and it was covered, but there wasn’t the huge front page splashes which may have been expected. The Spanish media were a little stung. It was all fun and games when Leicester were turning the Premier League on its head, but something quite different when it meant a Spanish team getting knocked out of the Champions League. Thankfully that hasn’t extended to their choosing of an MVP for the last round of Champions League matches. Spanish newspaper Marca and Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport, two grand old European sport newspapers, have chosen a shortlist of eleven players. Leicester City have a very impressive five in there, with AS Monaco, who knock Manchester City out, having 4. Jamie Vardy, Wesley Morgan, Christian Fuchs, Marc Albrighton and Kasper Schmeichel are all included in the selection and a winner will be announced on Thursday evening.
AKCJ Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Wes Morgan Champions League MVP. What a time to be alive.

fazzyfox Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 In terms of influencing the result Kasper has a massive claim for this award.

EGBFitness Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 So are we still saying that we need a major clear out this summer?
Darkon84 Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Should be Kasper by a country mile, but I reckon Mbappe will get it.

Guest bss9401 Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 All of our nominees deserve to be there after incredible performances but the winner has to be Kasper.

An Away Move Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 To the tune of 'Go West' by the Pet Shop Boys: BIG WEST[ley], our boy in blue BIG WEST[ley], likes a rum or two, BIG WEST[ley], captain Cham-pi-on, BIG WEST[ey], scored with his thighs!

onekeithweller Posted 16 March 2017 Posted 16 March 2017 Only Kasper makes the UEFA shortlist. If you want to vote for him he's currently 2nd to Oblak. http://mvp.uefa.com/en/uefachampionsleague/results
