Izzy Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Tonight feels like the end of an incredible, crazy and emotional 3 year journey. We've been the talk of English football, grabbed all the headlines and dominated talk shows and phone ins. It's been Leicester, Leicester, Leicester for quite a while now. But I think we'll probably fade into relative obscurity from now on - and that's ok. Nothing lasts forever I guess. We'll stay up and probably cement ourselves as a mid table PL team for a while - and that too is ok. Maybe an FA Cup run is next for us? Who knows, but I don't think we'll enjoy such blanket coverage and success in my lifetime again. I might be wrong and we might kick on, but I doubt it. Whatever happens, the last 2 years has been one hell of a ride. A brilliant, exhausting, proud and happy ride. We've had the time of our lives...
RussianFox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Didn't lose a single game at home in Champions League. Not bad from those little plucky foxes whose sole task was not to embarrass England in Europe, I think.
Jakemoore Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 Kept my emotions in check until Gary said "the Leicester fans have all lived a dream for three years. Me included. But tonight the dream finally ended as we finally met our match. And now we go back to being just Leicester City" and then I shed a tear. The past three years have been incredible. I'm looking back in hindsight. Not because I think it's all over but because i fear it could be. You don't realise just how amazing it all was until it's over. Having said all that, if we recruit well in the summer then I genuinely think we can push for top 6! I love this club.

Rather than feel disappointed, I am filled with immense pride in my team, our team, our city. We have taken on Europes finest and rather than be embarrassed as many "experts" claimed we would be, we've dug in, rolled our sleeves up and had a cracking time. From Shakey, every single player and every single supporter in the ground tonight. I am proud of you! Onwards and upwards Leicester Till I Die! Abso-bloody-lutely LTID
fairbanksh Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 So proud also Supporter for over 60 years and what a team Up against one of the very best in Europe and weren't outplayed at the King Power To be honest it's this team that deserves a statue in the city What a team effort Well done Shakey as well Onwards and upwards city
Danizen Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 End of an era but I don't say that with any kind of sadness or regret. The past 3-4 years have been amazing and in 30 years time I will be boring my grandkids with tales of these legends and what they've achieved. I'm not looking forward to us being a midtable team but it will be nice to have a season where our nerves aren't shredded every fvcking week!
treer Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 another night, we would have done it, what an effort. COYB
FoyleFox Posted 18 April 2017 Posted 18 April 2017 So proud of what our club has achieved and the way we've achieved it. It's been an amazing experience that we couldn't have even dreamed of. We've been given memories that will last a lifetime. We're all disappointed we've (narrowly) lost a Champions League Quarter Final. Just let that sink in!
On our way... Posted 19 April 2017 Posted 19 April 2017 Cannot believe some people by me were moaning. Day trippers I presume, who can now go and criticise from the comfort of their arm chairs. We (little old Leicester) won the bloody league and got to the quarter final of the Champions League FFS. What an achievement and we have lived out our wildest dreams. Best two years of my life and 45 years of following our great club. Maybe, just maybe, another incredible journey awaits. So, so proud LTID
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 19 April 2017 Posted 19 April 2017 I was interviewed at the end of the game by a Spanish TV company and his first question was 'are you proud of your team'? Clearly a tautological question and I had to keep my emotions in check as it felt like the Everton game and that it was the end of something extremely special; something to be treasured forever. I knew the crowd would respond with a standing ovation at the end but it still felt spontaneous and heart felt to a team you couldn't be more proud of. Every player gave everything last night and were a credit to themselves, their families, their profession, the club and us fans.

HybridFox Posted 20 April 2017 Posted 20 April 2017 Exactly this. Had a couple of colleagues who told me "you must be gutted". No chance! Incredibly proud of the club and this City. It does feel like the end of a very memorable chapter. BUT we haven't read the rest of the book yet! So who knows what what'll happen from here on. Hopefully a certain Shakespeare can write something special (pun intended)

Hardly ever utters a line of any consequence or which tells me something I don't know or cannot see for myself. There's less logic in seeing now as being the end of a dream as anyone else suggesting all we've experienced was impossible. We've achieved lots over the years and now's the time to achieve some more.
