Harsh on Shinji, and especially harsh on Riyad.

Only in their respective positions compared to their teammates. Wouldn't say either deserved over a 7 so 6+ seems fair?

I suppose I saw both of them as having better matches than Benny, for example - or Simpson.

Marc also seems a little low.

Ndidi, Shinji and Riyad 8th, 9th and 10th?

Fvck me.

Ndidi was the clear MOTM. Shinji would have ended the game with a goal and assist if he had longer legs and Riyad, although quiet in the first half, looked immense on the counter attack in the second.

was Vardy man of the match because he got the only goal! it was his only shot on goal! the defenders and goalkeeper high on the list because we kept a clean sheet!

very harsh on Ndidi, Okazaki and Mahrez who had decent games

lol this forum really hate mahrez, to score him below Okazaki, other than putting Vardy through, he did nothing for the rest of the game worth his position in the team.

"He did nothing other than create the solitary goal that won us the game"

Okazaki played a huge part is the key moment which earnt us victory. He contributed greatly to the result. Not sure what your point us.

The pivotal moments on which the game was won are far more important when looking back on a football match than running into a crowd of players or a few stray passes in the middle of the park which can be easily dealt with or whatever.

Who remembers one-off lines in Frederic Fortest's greater screen time in Apocalypse Now in comparison to Apocalypse Now? And which was more important to it becoming such an iconic film?

Sorry from where I was stood in the stand, he was shite, by far our worst player, and has been for a while.

Weak on the ball, in the air, no goal threat, gave the ball away a lot, clearly a lot don't rate mahrez, but I don't rate Okazaki.

Compare and contrast. Ndidi in particular.

But these kind of websites are inherently biased - any rating system based on stats is inherently biased towards giving weight to particular stats - of the two most popular sites - whoscored is well known for having a high bias towards players with high pass completion and squaka is well known for having a huge bias towards players with high dribbling completion.

Add to the fact these stats say nothing about key aspects to a player's performance - pressing, work rate, positioning, closing down space and keeping shape and taking opposition players out of position - especially for a team like Leicester who spend the majority of the game without the ball.

They also don't take into account momentum of games and delivering positively *when it matters*

There's no way for example that Albrighton - considering his aggressive pressing and the momentum we gained in many of our best attacks on Saturday did not put in a better performance and did not have a bigger positive impact in the game than several of the players above him.

Stats can be incredibly useful when properly contextualised, but weighted ratings which are inherently biased towards particular play styles and can not take into account off-the-ball importance or momentum or aggressive impetus on the ball are massively flawed and not particularly useful.

I'd take the opinion of an observer who oversaw the momentum and narrative of the game over weighted averages for this kind of this 10 times out of 10. (Not that individual, contextualised stats can't help the observers opinion as well).

Mahrez is so hated in this forum that I find it amazing he doesn't get the last position on permanent basis ..
