Are we though? I would put all three in the same bracket. We would all agree there is a top 7, however outside of that it's s much of a muchness, before winning the league would you have said you were a top 10 team let alone a league winning side? I doubt it

Difference is though mate, we look to be progressing were as WBA look to be staying at the same level...

You've been in the EPL for what? Nine years on the trot? In that time you've been mid table at best consistently. This is our fourth year and we've won the league, got to the last eight of the CL, before a mid table Finnish.  We at least look to be progressing where as you don't.

No disrespect intended.

So you loved what we did so much that you want us to stop aspiring and building towards doing something similar ever again?

Nothing wrong with that at all, I just dislike how the majority of your fans now have an arrogant attitude over everyone else like them.

Since when did you guys get so high and mighty, you won the league.. fantastic achievement. You reverted to type last season. You are nothing more than a middle to lower level premier league team -  a side ways step from West Brom. Jonny Evans will not join you, if he wants trophies, he has just as much chance with us as with you. The total arrogance you now have annoys me , you won the league as one of the small teams punching and everyone loved you for that. Get a grip.       oh, the irony....

David, we are nothing like you. You play 4 centre backs in each game with a holding midfielder. You will never win anything due to your complete and utter negativity. I think its pretty arrogant to compare your tin pot team to one that has recently won the league. Levels, know yours.

None taken, you're right, we as a club have played it safe, possibly too safe at times, maybe that's the chairman, the manager ... but with our budget the best we can hope for is probably 7th which I think you'd say is the best you could hope for in the present day- no dis respect. In fairness we've had our best window in a long time.

The difference between us and Stoke, West Brom etc. Is our owners and how ambitious they are.

Lets be honest sleeping giants are the Sheffield teams and Leeds, Villa even.  Our owners could easily have picked another club.

remember a midfield of Alan Mayberry, Darren Kenton and Shawn Newton - I do.

But this 'negativity' finished above you last season...

Sorry, how far did you go in the Champions league? My guess being you watched it all on TV.

You're definately right in the sense that you have a stable wage structure that you've stuck to and that's maintained safety where as we've went for broke and pushe'd our wages up more that the majority of the league which may or may not work out but it's also the other aspect of what makes us more attractive to players. We also play more exciting football.

We really are in stark contrast to each other... good luck to yeez but geez yer captain!

I'd agree with most of that, but Evans is on around £75k a week at the Albion and has a new contract offer on the table , are you going to pay him much more? Will you be willing to? I hope both answers to that are no!

Yes when we had bigger fish to fry. The league was secondary last year as we had previously unlocked that achievement the year before, keep up sunshine. As for "pipe down lil Mickey" original, but you can do much better.

No they aren't meaningless but the fact that we were in the Champions League (and the last British team standing I might add) shows that we had other priorities.

WBA secured Premier League safety by about February time and then downed tools. Hardly the attitude of an ambitious and aspiring club. Maybe with your new Chinese owner you'll try to kick on this year.

There's a great stat somewhere about us being the most successful club in recent years behind Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City  in relation to trophies...? Ie league cups (2), and top 3 league titles (3)

6th most decorated English club in the last 25 years or something along those lines. Need to add the FA Cup to the list this season to keep this record going.

I'm lost as to what the argument is about, what is your case/point, WBA fan?

That we are similar to WBA in footballing terms and that as supporters we are all high and mighty since winning the league and getting to the last 8 of the CL League.

Said WBA is incorrect and I'll here nothing more about it from the man.

edit:

On a serious note on their day they could beat us, on our day we beat anyone in the league, even last year Man City felt the foxes rocket. WBA cannot and will not progress under pulls.

Oh I'll argue it forever. There's just no comparison.

WBA are crap to watch too lol

You're right mate there is no comparison between us as clubs, ignore him as I will, i cant take wba seriously on the matter, sorry baggie aggie :(

Evans was a top target at the start of the window. He wanted the move but West Brom stalled the deal and now the big clubs have come in for him.

There will be lots of players that we'll be in for. Anyone thinking any different & picturing Rudkin etc sat in an office twiddling their thumbs til deadline day is very naive. Don't underestimate our financial power and the structure we have to attract top players.

It's frustrating I know but I don't think people appreciate how complex the market is & the many factors involved (a lot of which are out of the clubs hands) in completing a transfer.

But people want someone to blame, and complexity doesn't give that.

Lets face it, we all like good witch hunt. It makes us feel better about our own miserable lives (ref:Micheal Moore). Just look at Trump, or Brexit. Complicated situations reduced to simplistic solutions, and everyone loses. :(
