I'm in my teens and I love it but it's mostly because Leicester have never won it and I've never been to Wembley to watch Leicester play so I'm so desperate to see us lift it

I don't care how marginalised it has become - It's unfinished business for us.

Yeah Arsenal have 13 league titles, 13 FA cups, 2 league cups, a cup winners cup.

Forest have a league total and European cup.

I think Arsenal just edge it in the big club stakes and that's before it' mentioned that they've been in the top flight for 99 years in a row.

Just to check, we're talking about the Arsenal that have 13 league titles, 13 FA cups, 2 league cups and a European cup winners cup?

compared to forests 1 league title, 2 fa cups, 4 league cups and two European cups?

So, 29 major trophies vs 9? Got to be a tool to consider forest the bigger club, even historically, let alone now.

The League Cup needs to die.

Or the FA need to be smart and have an ‘fa Cup break’ like an international one where two or three rounds could be played at once.

Personally in Forest vs Arsenal I’ve just seen the game of the season and I’d miss the FA Cup if it disappeared.

My family are all Newcastle fans and I still remember my mum decorating the house and baking black and white themed cakes when they got to back to back finals when I was a kid. I’ll always remember those days and I think the FA Cup needs to be prioritised in terms of keeping it important over any league cup!

If we ditched the league cup there’s no reason the FA Cup couldn’t start pre Christmas, meaning much less congestion.

Would mean teams would be fresher in the league too.

Absolutely no need for both cups, and in my opinion absolutely no need for the FA Cup to be ditched!

Two european cups back to back. Greatest trophy in European football.

But anyway melt down all the fa cups won by arsenal and it might just make the handles on the european cup

If you're feeling the need to troll on the internet maybe I'm not the one needing to get laid. Get a hobbie and once again grow up.

The total prize money for the FA cup this year is about £13.5 million ... the winner doesn't pocket  much more than

a win in the the Champions League group stage and the runner up less. The money involved is even peanuts to

Championship sides.

I'm afraid money talks ..  FA Cup Third round day ( when all the ties were played at 3 pm on a Saturday ) used to

be one of the magical days in the sporting calendar ....now it has as much allure as the Badminton horse trials.

What about players wanting to win things. At the end of your career unless you're lucky the cups are your best chance of haiving a medal to show for all you've done. The teams put our by us and others were nothing short of a disgrace and an insult to fans who paid to go and watch. Leicester should reimburse all the fans who went the total cost of going.

The PL has ruined football in this country and will continue to do so unless someone has the courage to do something. Personally I'd like to see all premier league sides not able to play players rested for the FAcup 3rd round for the next two league games. Then we might see some respect for the supporters, the sponsors and the TV companies. The latter for once chose not to show Man Utd and were rewarded by sides treating the competition as a joke.

What you say is unfortunately completely true.

No cup needs to die. What is needed is for the PL league clubs to realise they have a repsonsibility to the game as a whole.

I think there are many issues with the fa cup. But usually a big team does come out on top and win it.

Scheduling again is an issue too. After a huge christmas its really no surprise to see the rotation we do in some of the games.

Ultimately id say if you want to devalue the cup its up to you. YOU have to face defeat, the embarrasment of the giant killing and the consequences.

... as it’s already been said ‘it’s still unfinished business’ and after over fifty years of living the Leicester City ‘dream’ I need (... and yes, I really do mean need!) to see us lift the grand old lady ... whilst I never dreamt I’d see us crowned PL Champions it happened .... so for me and I I know a lot of other folks (young and old as it turns out) we would love to see the FA cup finally engraved with Leicester City FC on it .... please don’t disrespect ‘the Cup’, please get on there and win it!

I think the fa cup carries even more significance for us because although its a much smaller less important trophy, most would have assumed we would never have won the league so it would complete the set.

Agree pal. I think I’m just on best case scenario now because I know they won’t take League schedule into account!

The league cup and fa cup have the same prize at the end.... the europa league spot.

All that really changes is the shape of the trophy.

League cup has a friendlier format in many ways.... games decided on the day with no replay, a seeding system protecting the big teams more fully too.

But teams still view these competitions as a hinderance and theres not much anyone can do.

If clubs want to abuse the cups and play fringe players its their perogative, if winning isnt an ambition

Sad but true indeed Bum ...   the only ones who take the FA cup seriously are the fans ..   I fully appreciate why it is not important as football now, especially premier league football, is big big business...  it is a real shame.   I’m not sure why people are really bothered about our match yesterday as we already knew the clubs intentions...   we had a massive chance to get to Wembley in ‘that other cup’ and sadly we let it go.   I’m not complaining..   it’s up to the owners and I absolutely understand ...    just sad. :(

Since we let in foreign owners, and weird foreign managers...You wait, when brexit is secured,

It will be like the FA cup of old....
