Am I right that they've finally stopped charging extra for having HD?

Always made me laugh when people moaned about the price of the licence fee and it was only slightly more than the cost of SKY charging you to watch stuff in HD that was recorded and broadcast in HD anyway

I have sky but not HD, I get it with films but not sports or any of the other sky related channels. Can't say i'm that bothered about that though.

I have heard that if you sign up for the Sky Q you get the ultra HD stuff included, which there isn't a lot of apparently but still have to pay to get the HD channels

They still charge £6 a month to receive Sports in HD, but if you have Sky Q, anything broadcast in UHD is free to watch, and some matches are. Everything else in HD is free.

You only get ultra HD on Sky Q if you have the multiroom and the 2TB box.

Signed up for Sky Q last week, and this is indeed correct.

Yes I forgot you have to have multi room and the 2TB box. If you have everything else, I don't know why they're still charging extra for HD, it's the only thing I don't have, but I pay enough already, I'm not paying an extra fee for it when I get UHD anyway.

Don't think I know anyone who has Sky that doesn't believe that the company that tries to rip subscribers etc off.

Seem to raise prices quite steeply, but then contested by some - it declines.

So how’s this going to work then, as I watch sky on my tv downstairs through a satallite dish where I can watch live tv and record as well. This also includes the free to air channels such as bbc and itv, I never need to use my digital channels.

Upstairs I can stream through my ps4 and watch live and catchup but I can’t record. I’m assuming then we would need new boxes in order to watch through the internet unless you have a smart tv?

They obviously haven't used kodi before then. The future's bright, The future's gonna be a fvck up.

I don't know what this means? BT tv is all online and works like any other...

Wait till sky plugs into the internet and there's 20 million extra signels going through the lines.

even then you need a tv which is "ultra hd" ready

If they could get rid of their ridiculous price packages and offer a more customisable service, I might be tempted back.

As it is, I'll stick with my BT TV being £60 a month cheaper for the usual channels instead of 500+ thanks.
