Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

so why is he paid 100k a week then? if you gonna ask for 95 million then pay him like a 95 million player

Because he signed a contract on that money.

Riyad Mahrez adheres to the terms and conditions of his current contract.

It has nothing to do with our evaluation of his transfer value.

He‘s already on very good money.

Does Coutinho earn 150k a week then?

oh look, the pot calling the kettle black lol

Well exactly but you’re no different so stop trying to take the higher ground and picking bits out of the media to fit you Mahrez agenda

Also do you not understand how negotiatons work. The selling club starts higher than their real valuation and the buying club starts lower and they generally end up meeting in the middle. Man City weren’t willing to even test the waters and offer £80m, that was my point. A lot to pay for a 6 week Sane replacement I suppose

But they didn't offer 95, they didn't offer 80 and they didn't offer 75.

£50m plus a reserve?

Do one Pep.

you can talk 65 to 75, you can't do that for 95 million

Exactly! Don’t get why it’s hard for some to understand

I reckon £75-80m would’ve sealed it

the owners didn't have non of it (good for them) it was 95 million cach or jog on.

Shitting the bed for the owners would have been selling him for 55 million and an 18 yr old and only possibly if we were lucky having to buy Townsend as a replacement

Leicester Mercury reports we were holding out for 80 million, which on the last day of the transfer window is actually very reasonable

Man City did not want Riyad that bad.  Nobody except us respects how good he is, if he just kept his head down and kept playing like he has done this season i think he woul have got his move in the summer and the owners would sell for a reasonable bid made at the right time

There is still the chance for him to do that.

The owners havent made a mistake. They've played a blinder

You don’t know that unless you’re ITL which I’m guessing isn’t the case. As I said it’s called negotiation and Man City wouldn’t budge anymore

so can we atleast agree on the "there is no loyalty in football' part because we both have very different views on the matter

and he was valued at a certain price tag then, now the market is inflated, if the club demands a high sum of money for him than he should be paid more

I guess so but I still don’t think you understand how business negotiations work.

There is is no loyalty, for all Mahrez has done for us we’ve done the same of not more for him. Sad ending to a wonderful players stint at this great club but we’ll be alright. Hope he looks back with regret one day but I doubt it

I am firmly starting to believe you are his agent my friend :)

Am enjoying your endless love and support for Riyad though, keep posting :)

Yes but he has refused to sign another contract with us so that’s not going to happen now is it? You argue like a Mahrez fan and not a fan of the football club. Blind entitlement toward the individual rather than best interests of LCFC.

Because he signed a £100k a week contract before the market went (even more) mental. When he signed that contract (presumably without a gun to his head) we were looking for £50 million because Raheem Sterling’s transfer was the benchmark.

In any event the money he’s paid is immaterial - he wants to move.

Perhaps Mahrez should be focussing his ire on Manchester City who have behaved very poorly with this transfer. Guardiola claims that Mahrez is a long-term target who they were interested in during the summer, when they could have bought Mahrez for the sort of value they seem to be willing to pay now. Instead, knowing full well that the market (which, by the way they have played a greater role than anybody else in distorting) was driving his price up, they waited for 29 days of the January window to make their move and when they did it was at a level that they knew that our owners would never accept. Their tactics were to low ball, get Mahrez to kick up a fuss and hope we’d buckle. We didn’t.

If I was Mahrez I’d be wondering why an oil-rich state-backed super-club who spent over £50 million on each of the last four defenders they signed couldn’t see their way to paying anything approaching the asking price for a PFA Footballer of the Year.

The only people that come out of this well are Leicester. I’ve been critical of our owners in the past but credit where it’s due. They’ve not let us be bullied by Manchester City. Unfortunately Mahrez is stuck in the middle but he’s pointing fingers in totally the wrong direction.

And United and Liverpool are criminally overpaying Lingard and the Ox.

just like price tags, van dijk and coutinho prices were inflated but that didn't stop you from valuing riyad high because of them.
