@bovril Magdala is a lovely little gaff ain't she Bovvy, hats off. Lovely Harvey's Best with a decent crowd in ambient lighting that makes my already prominent cheekbones really sing

8 Miquels out of 10

Good food too. It's an underrated pub I think. If it were on a high street in an area like Islington it'd be much better known.

Been drinking a fair amount of Brewdog Black Heart, really like it. Find it much smoother than Guiness (especially as an at-home drink).

Black heart

Camden Stout

London Black

Guiness

What's your favourite?

I like Magic Rock's Dark Arts stout.

Had a nice Ruby at a local taproom (https://www.glenaffricbrewery.com/our-beers) I've been meaning to go to for ages but hadn't managed to until tonight. I could've had a fair few more, very easy down the hatch. Not on the website yet unfortunately.

I love a Ruby but I find them increasingly hard to come by. It's always 4 different pales and maybe a Stout.

Me too, mentioned that on the previous page! A nice (and different) tasting stout for sure.

Charnwood Black Fox stout at The Fox Cub, Barrow, at lunchtime. Looked rammo in the main room when I left work.

I find it's too busy in there atm. Shame they didn't take two units. Hopefully it dies down a bit.

You've got the Barrow/Sorrel crawl down the Soar to look forward to in the summer too. Can't be beaten on a good summer's day!

I do Navigation, Pinsent, Swan and then curry at Gurkha New Delhi (which is a top curry house). You could do the reverse and end up at Three Crowns for a curry, and bolt on one, or both, of the Charnwood Brewery micropubs.

Very much looking forward to walking in and drinking in the surrounding villages. Loughborough is pound-for-pound better than a day out in than Leicester as well imo

Walking rather than waking, I don’t drink that much
