Loads of decent cask ales in various pubs in rural Norfolk.

Top boozing country

Pricey though did you find?

Granted not been for two years now but I remember thinking it was daft money and not even in the Chelsea on sea type villages.

A beauty!

The couple who started running it a couple of years ago have transformed the place, such a good pub now.

Had a pint of DEYA Glue IPA in the head of steam before the darts last night in Birmingham. A lovely beer but it did set me back over £9

What was criminal though was that a pint of Rekorderlig was over £7!

Went to the Dog & Bell in Deptford on Thursday which is a great pub. Feels like a pub in Dublin but with an amazing beer selection. Also did Kernal and Anspach and Hobday’s taprooms. The Kernal one is very good

Three pints of blue fox on cask yesterday in the Sorrel Fox which was on fine form

@bovril not sure if you've seen mate but soft launch of The Whippet near Liverpool St the week just gone, same group as the Holborn Whippet / Euston Tap etc, they've taken a few bits and pieces from the Holborn Whippet to put up n all

Excellent stuff. The location was something I always liked about the Whippet though because even though there were city types there it was still Bloomsbury enough to get students, academics and tourists which gave it a more mellow vibe and Sicilian Avenue helped too.

Nice tip thanks, location ensures all the recruiters, insurance brokers and product control dudes stay in the railway tavern whilst the good lads can enjoy this place and still be in spitting distance of McDonalds and train home

Not my last, but London delivered again this week!

Had an exceptional stout in Coach & Horses (Leyton), right near Orient's ground. Hoping it's an away pub next season to sample it again.

Beer – 40FT Brewery

Had a few stunners in London yesterday myself - did The Three Lords near Liverpool St which was surprisingly good, then headed out to Wapping.

Town of Ramsgate and Prospect of Whitby as busy as expected, interesting pubs and worth a visit but wouldn't rush back to either — Turner's Old Star though was absolutely fantastic, really brilliant, 10/10. Then had a couple in the new Craft Beer Co place in Limehouse called the Clement Atlee, great selection.

Had a day out in Birmingham yesterday for my brother’s birthday. It’s a great city for boozers when you know where you’re going, not unlike London - otherwise it can be a disparate and disjointed outing.

Did the Woodman, the Bull, Queens Head, Wellington and Waterside Tap, some shit generic bar before having a curry at the Hen & Chickens.

The Woodman is fantastic looking, nice selection as well.

Was away-friendly last time we played them. Remember having a Burger off their barbecue too.

Did you get to The Grapes in Limehouse? Sir Ian McKellen's boozer (he lives next door to it, i think). Loved popping in when my mate lived over the road.

Had some bank holiday beers in Leicester. Don’t think there will be many bank holiday beers left in Leicester. This city is brilliant for its multiculturalism but it’s also ruining its pub scene. I am looking to leave…

Kings Head, Two Tailed Lion and Real Ale Classroom. Me and my partner are considering moving to Nottingham. Really sad but I need to live somewhere I can walk to a beer culture.

Leyton Orient supporters club is also in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. They have around 10 cask ales on before each game all from independents.

Actually excited about some of our away days for the first time in a while. Hoping to do Orient, Bradford and Burton

At a wedding on Friday -  a pint of Pravha at the Grand Central was £9, the Charnwood bottles were £8.40 - a fookin disgrez.

I was at a wedding on Saturday as well (feeling it now) at Bourton Hall in Warks and a pint of Asahi was £6.50 which felt very reasonable in comparison.

4 Veltins in Asda now: £6.

Lovely stuff. 500ml, too.

8 cans of spaten or estrella galicia for £10 at Morrisons which is good.

Yeah it’s good to see more and more of it. Morrisons has had a fine selection for a while now.

Estrella Galicia is a sensational beer. Up there with the Germans.
