Need to cut back on the booze a bit and so have a Leffe 0% on the perfect draft. Actually very good and banging when it's hot out.

This and the Erdinger Alkoholfrei are head and shoulders above anything else atm

Kilpin, newish place and the interior is fine for what is is, not a cookie cutter craft bar but it's superb for the choice of beer

Canal House, a staple but it's superb

Falcon Inn at Canning Circus, it's like if Wyggeston House was an old man boozer

King William IV, another Castle Rock but it's like something out of Kelham Island

Then I guess Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem if you've never been/haven't been for a while

Edit: A lot of the Castel Rock pubs are interchangeable really, all pretty good so Kean's Head (does stink of curry), Newshouse, Vat & Fiddle, another near the arena all do the same beer.

In the evening the Bath Inn is a cracker, it's wall to wall with art deco trinkets.

So the first entry has a big match to absolutes of

King William, Jerusalem, Kean;s Head, and then Kilpin and Cock & Hoop were next behind with Canalhouse.

This post sounded like Gerald from Clarkson's farm to me lol

Starting with YOTTJ, Canalhouse, Kilpin, Kean's Head then to King William would make sense on the way to the ground. Cock & Hoop is alright if you can get a seat otherwise it's a bit awkward even finding a spot to stand in

Don't think the King Billy is a CR brother unless it's changed hands recently. Still great mind.

Like you've said you can't really go wrong with the Castle Rock set, Vat and Fiddle, Canalhouse and Newshouse all class.

The Kilpin is very reliable and its location is bang on

I've never really rated the pubs I've been in Notts, always thought it was better for bars.

Find yourself in deepest deepest Norfolk. Turn off the far from main road onto a dirt track across the tree lined marshes for half a mile or so. Lumpty bumpty, lumpty bumpty.

Park up and walk the last 200 yards.

Find yourself at Geldeston Locks Inn. Owned by 1500 locals because they could not bare to let this wonderful place close.

Main bar still candle lit.

By the river at the southernmost point of the Broads.

CAMRA Good Beer Guide listed.

Telegraph "Best 500 pubs in the Country".

Real ale, food, entertainment.

It's grim. You dont want to go there.

And yes, I confess I am one of the 1500. I hold two shares.

Went to Five Lamps in Derby- nice Titanic Stout.  It is my personal favourite pub,   just cannot explain it but it is like a really good vibing feel with the pub itself.   It is nothing extraordinary but that makes it even more relatable.

The beer selection is decent enough,  good location being on Kedleston Road pub crawl and close to the town.  Good mixed crowd.  Does street food guests every Fridays.   However I just love the layout how the bar which is quite tiny and quaint just faces the room which wraps around it.
