Got the right men for a crisis coming in a 3 and 4. There's been a couple of balls have started to do more than a bit. It may be one of those days a ball 'has your name on it'.
Max Wall Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Openers gone. Lot riding on this next partnership.
Max Wall Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 Deary me. After I 'big up' Pujara he plays a shot like that on the cusp of lunch.

Was at the game while Kohli and Rahane put their stand on so missed their innings. Got back to the car and Kohli gets out before his ton . Shame we lost another wicket before close of play as well. Pant hitting his 2nd ever test ball for six . I'd hope for at least 350. Would have hoped for 400 if Pandya was still in with Pant but we'll see how tomorrow goes! At least it's set to be a good game with us putting on a competitive total for now.
StanSP Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 just seen Cook's catch to get Rahane out. What a take Even looked a bit shocked himself. Bairstow didn't even move!
sm1 Posted 18 August 2018 Posted 18 August 2018 India finally show some fight with the bat. Pant looks like a good batsman, interesting to see him play tomorrow.
Max Wall Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 1 minute ago, StanSP said: England scoring far too easily for my liking! It is rather rattling along. 5 runs per over is pretty unusual for openers. Imperative Indian bowlers take a scalp to slow them down.
HighPeakFox Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 When did England last have a 100+ opening partnership?
Max Wall Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Yesterday also proved that the bowlers were more dangerous once the lacquer came off the ball but it was still relatively hard and it swung a little more. That period should be coming up soon for the India bowlers and they have to bowl good lines and take advantage.

Max Wall Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Missed the Root dismissal so can't comment. India have bowled so much better since lunch though. It doesn't look easy to bat out there but these are familiar failings from England once their batting line up is under pressure.

StanSP Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Let me guess, you gonna call Woakes a cheat for not walking despite hitting it @Bert
Bert Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Just now, StanSP said: Let me guess, you gonna call Woakes a cheat for not walking despite hitting it @Bert No, what a stupid review. Clear as day he’s hit that Root was never out, clearly didn’t carry. Nice to see no integrity or spirit of the game from the Indians. Expect no less though to be fair.
AjcW Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 Well this is going well, what the **** did they have for lunch?
Max Wall Posted 19 August 2018 Posted 19 August 2018 I'm guessing the Root dismissal wasn't good from the comments on here. Despite that, Pandya deserves his 5 for, great spell of bowling from him.
