In the 4th innings in England in muggy conditions? I'd put good money on it never having happened before.
AKCJ Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 England have about 40% of the target and India have 40% of the wickets. Considering it's all over as soon as one of these two are out it's bloody entertaining.
StanSP Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 fantastic from Buttler. Fair play. Superb fighting innings, that.
Bobby Hundreds Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 We won’t win but my word I’m proud of these pair.
StanSP Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 hoping that taking the new ball will be effective as right now it'll need something ridiculously good to get these 2 out, or even just 1 of them.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Pleased for buttler, want to see him do well and cement a place in the test side. Perfect for him really if he shows a bit of patience as the field is attacking and there’s gaps everywhere to get his boundaries from the bad balls.
StanSP Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 I originally thought that was too high! Wow, what an innings though. I actually feel tad sorry for Buttler to go out with such a tight call. Well played, though
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Gutting to get out without playing a shot. Such a close call too. Finished tonight now.
AKCJ Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Hoping these two can last the rest of days play. Would be nice to take the game into tomorrow afternoon but I can’t see it. 300 plus is still a great 4th innings score. That’s the aim now.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Now the bowlers are in we might as well have a slog and not bother wasting everyone’s time coming back tomorrow. Some bouncer that.
StanSP Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Similar praise to Buttler, same to Stokes for sticking out so long. Expect the final 2 wickets to go today as well now though. New ball has made such a difference.
cambridgefox Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 Working from home I pad on,been a very interesting day. Then the new ball arrived!
cambridgefox Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 On a side note and no he shouldn’t be called back in,but Moeen Ali has had a good day. scored about 130 runs today (219) 4 wickets would be pleased with that days cricket
StanSP Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 that's a no-ball from Bumrah. Not sure why it's taking so long.

Expect the final 2 wickets to go today as well now though. New ball has made such a difference. Yes Butler and Stokes did a great job,but twice the front 3 (pope as an excuse!!!) Let the team down... plus Woakes should have come in before Bairstow...there was still a flickering hope, that Stokes/Woakes/Bairstow,might have taken it further, into the last day. Bairstow could of benefited from the extra time, away from the crease. 2ndly...2nd inning s for England, again the whole batting unit failed...Again the first 6 went for under 300. 3rd home test, and top 4 are failing to make a mark. did however enjoy Butlers 1st ton,and a great fighting innings from Stokes. for the first time...my first time, that I doubt Cook and Root. Root can suffer a poor series, but cooks late career, could be finished earlier than,I would hope. I did say,we should of kept Curran in the side.Personally I would of dropped Jennings, and put Root back as an opener, tried Stokes at 3 ,Pope down to 5.....

Voll Blau Posted 21 August 2018 Author Posted 21 August 2018 Burns for Jennings and Curran back if Bairstow's out. Lad can hold a bat better than most of our top order did today.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 500 odd runs or bat for 2 days, the openers need to set the tone, cook needs dropping down the order.
Captain... Posted 21 August 2018 Posted 21 August 2018 It all seems a bit daft coming back tomorrow I assume they bowled extra overs tonight does that come out of tomorrow’s total? I’m tempted to say just declare tonight and don’t go through the rigmarole of all coming back tomorrow for potentially one delivery.
