Central America is part part of North America. North America get get 3 spots with a potential 4th, South America gets 4 with a potential 5th.

 

Plus how are you going to decide the numbers on a world cup by world cup basis? It's 4 year cycle, you could cut north America to 1 or 2 spots and a quality team woud miss out. It's fair the way it is.

Highly disappointed in this Costa Rica side. Sleepwalking through most of the game. Not that Serbia were much better.

Not really - if anything south America has too many places. 4 slots plus a play off from 10 nations, north America gets 3 plus a play off spot from 35 nations, Africa gets 5 from 54 nations, Asia 4 plus a play off from 46 nations, Europe 13 from 54 (granted one for hosts in this case) and Oceania just a play off spot from 11.

 

So at most South America has 50% of its teams there, North America 11%, Africa 9%, Europe 23%, Oceania 9%, Asia 9%. The entire thing is already heavily weighted to South America + Europe, they don't need more representatives

It’s a lack of goals isn’t it. The better sides go one up and the opposition just doesn’t have the quality to break them down. I’m having a ball on both teams not to score so far this tournament.
