WOW!

so much optimism!

Can't any of you remember how the team performed under Puel? (once the new-manager-bounce thing had worn off)

It was dire.

With him in charge: RELEGATION.

I stick by what I've said.  I will apologise and eat my words if we play okay in the first 10 games. Will you do the same if The Puel Dull-as-ditchwater Direness is as evident as in Feb/Mar/Apr ??? I expect a response by the middle of October!!!!!

(......also expect a sacking!)

Lets make it 1-14th  i'm wrong (together with the 93% of City fans who voted Puel should go, back in April).

16-20th would appear to be a relegation battle and a 'I told you so'  scenario!

By the way - I am a mad keen City fan (since 1968) but NOT a Puel fan. Just like when Everyone was kissing Paulo Sousa's a**e and mine was the only voice of reason then.

9 games, 7 defeats later and, strangely, people stopped slagging me off (it got really unpleasant!) and suddenly came up with their "I always said he should go" comments.

Puel not as bad as Sousa, but still Dire!

lol

You used to be indecisive, now you're not so sure?

The  16th - 20th is after 10 games (as said) - after 38 I expect us to be top half cos by then we'll have a manager who realises we aren't Barcelona (à là Sousa and DeBoer at Palace last season) !!

So, to reiterate, you still believe we're relegated if Puel is there a whole season right?

The good thing about social media is that it's there for all to see.

I'm a little confused now. According to you less than 4 hours ago, with Puel in charge we're relegated.  Now you want places 15 to 20?

Unless relegation has changed to the bottom 5, you are backtracking are you not?

I suspect you won't answer that.

Absolutely locked on certain. Apppleton was a big factor in his initial 'success' and he's gone now. Nil entertainment value and Nil goals. RELEGATION!

Your FIRST post on the subject said, and I quote, 'With him in charge - RELEGATION' did it not?

Or did someone hijack your account?

Sure have!

The most concerning thing about this exchange is that you're over 50 years old and should have some sense.

I'm not saying we definitely won't be relegated but you ARE saying we definitely will, then you denied it, then you reiterated it

Can you not see that?

I guess we're at an impasse. You have my word that if Puel is manager for 38 games and we are relegated, I will find you and apologise on here. I'm not sure what you're going to do if you're wrong. Since the exchange began you've moved from 18-20th to 14th-20th and back again in the space of four hours and 6 posts. If I keep this exchange going you'll want league positions 2-20th by the end of it.

Max !!! We should let it go! Its a prediction thread!

My prediction, if Mr. Ditchwater stays, is.......

....RELEGATION!

Hahahaha. Glad you're now clear on the subject.

This is a very solid team that Puel has assembled for the 18/19 season & I expect us to be top half as a minimum.  I would not expect the Thai's to tolerate anything less.

They are in profit for the Transfer window this summer. I am not sure they are in a position to be demanding top 10 at all. If they spend £70m + then it would be a difference matter

I refuse to believe that our position is directly related to the amount spent. I would like to think that spending well is more important. Chelsea are trying to sell a 29 year old Willian for 70 plus  but I would rather have a 21 year old Maddison for 25.

Surprised by all the bed wetting on here recently. There’s plenty of teams that’d kill to have our squad. Think we’re comfortably a top 8 side

Very few people are explaining why they think we’ll finish where we finish.

Where are the goals coming from if Vardy doesn’t score or gets injured? Will Gray finally start to produce? What about the midfield?

What do think of Evans?

Etc....

Even as bad as we were, with him in charge our points average was comfortably enough to stay up.

People really overestimate the quality of this division, remove the top four and it's pretty terrible, Burnley even qualified for Europe.

You have got to be absolutely shocking to be relegated these days.

take away the performances, assists & goals of mahrez though and we lose a fu cking load of those points...

bournemouth (h), watford (h), newcastle (a), saints (a), arsenal (h), spurs (h), west brom (a), huddersfield (h) etc etc, not sure we get even half the points we did from them if we’re playing diabate or gray instead of riyad. which seems to be the plan as we stand.

I think we will see a few goals from Gray, Diabete & Maddison with Nacho having a breakout year. Ndidi will be even better this year & hopefully Silva will step up.

Maguire & Evans should be solid in the middle with two pretty good fullbacks in Chilwell & Pereira to complete the back four. I think our goalkeeping is solid so no worries there . I'm expecting us to finish 7th.

You're in for a surprise, and not a good one. Just don't expect too much yeah?
