whoareyaaa Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 Wouldn't be surprised if he's gone by the end of the season, still has plenty of room to improve though seems a bit cautious/nervous at times but overall a good defender but not irreplaceable as others suggest.
Haywood_6 Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 If we could get around the same amount for him as Mahrez, then that would be great business. We'll never be able to replace Mahrez, but we can with Maguire. And who knows? Benkovic could be even better

Stevosevic Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 I still don't see who people think he is moving to. Can someone help me out on this? It looks like Man United are going after better CBs. Who else is there in the top 6 who would want him right now? Spurs maybe....but not for the amount we would sell at. They won't see him as value which is how they do all their deals.

Foxes1 Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 I will only believe he's going when 'Sky Sources' says so

We should not get into the habit of selling our better players but in the case of Maguire - we could still achieve our ambitions with/without him in my view. I like him as a player but we've seen he's prone to the odd mistake. Don't see him being paramount now we have the likes of Evans, Soyuncu and Benkovic to choose from. Finding another striker who's capable of scoring goals at this level, which is more of a priority for us in my opinion. Not holding on to Maguire. If a huge offer came in from Man united again, which is a big IF, i don't think the club are going to dig their heels in as much as we did with Mahrez. I think they've already prepared for the outcome.

We're probably about as high as we can get (!). If we keep selling our top talent then this is our level. The top 5/6 tabs have all got world class players in their ranks. If another team outside the top few gets a world class player they are simply bought and the progress of the selling club is halted. If we want to break into the top 5 or 6 then we must keep our best players.
Hollyfox Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 It's fantastic that we've got some great young players but by selling them, it sends out the wrong message. Players want to win things ( as well as earning obscene amounts of money) and our failure, yet again, in the league cup, tells them to move on to better things when offers come along. But I'm happy if we become the club where good young players come to, to put themselves in the window for the elite and we make handsome profits.

We are a weaker squad without Maguire, his ability to play forward passes and break the lines with his passing is a key asset when facing defensive teams.
gurru991 Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 I enjoy having England's CB playing for us and would really hate to see him leave even for stupid money. It sends a message to Chilwell & Maddison that we are an interim club and don't have ambition.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 December 2018 Posted 24 December 2018 If players don’t want to play for us then they can Fock off don’t give a flying fook who they are
