However... Brendan will weigh up his value.... in terms of utility and potential to start... if Brendan doesn't need him we should wish him well and let him go.... on loan or be sold.

Well he can supposedly play three positions. Right back, centre back and defensive midfield. He's behind Ricardo and Justin at right back, behind Soyuncu, Evans and Morgan, and maybe Benkovic at centre back, and behind Ndidi, Choudhury and Mendy in defensive midfield. I like the guy, but in a lot of case where fringe player gets a long term injury, we've moved on and he's fell down the pecking order.

At RB the best he can hope for is a bench spot if Ricardo/Justin are injured.

In midfield we usually play 1 DM and he's 4th choice in that position, and he's not going to get a sniff at CM.

However he's captained his country from CB with some success (getting into the AFCON team of the tournament), and with Morgan not quite up to the task anymore he could be a decent backup option. Depends on when he and Benkovic are back up to speed. He's still only 24 as well, so there's still room for progression. Working with Kolo Toure will help him massively I imagine.
