Who do you WANT to win this year?  

 

Stokes all day for me but can see a case for all the others although Wyn Jones feels a bit of a lifetime achievement like when Giggsy won it.

Feel a bit for Dina Asher-Smith though, fastest woman in British history. I guess it's difficult for any athlete to challenge outside of an Olympic year though.

Stokes is the clear favourite, but Adam Peaty has to feel aggrieved not to even make the shortlist.

 

IMO the order should be

 

Stokes

Asher-Smith

Hamilton

KJT

Sterling

Jones

what went from looking like a really poor year where someone was just going to win by default is actually a pretty solid list now. except whoever that welsh geezer is. 

 

stokes obviously wins it by miles but there's 4 world champions, one of the best players in world football who was instrumental in his team winning the treble (as well as all the off field stuff he's done) and then some geezer who lost a rugby game nobody even cared about. decent.

Yeah Asher Smith and Thompson are world champs and  either would be worthy top 3 finishers.

Whilst the marathon record was brilliant, it doesn't feel as brilliant as it would given the number of aspects that aided him to do it rather than it being in a natural racing environment

Yes it’s a bit in the shade of the WC drama a month or two earlier in peoples ‘minds 

his achievement ( and his team mates’ too) to chase that score in the 4th innings against such an attack in an absolutely no quarter , winner takes all match was truly fantastic and scarcely believable
