Ndidi

I agree that Kante was a more exceptional player for us in 15-16 - though Ndidi is one of the best in his position and only likely to get better.

Of our current squad, I think there's probably only Vardy I'd be unhappier to lose.

Mainly, though, I just prefer to look forward......look back occasionally in nostalgia, but mainly focus on the future, not the past.

Imo Kante is world class and probably one of the finest  midfielders I have ever seen.  The fact he played for us is unbelievable.   When someone was running at him or it was a 50 50 ball you just knew he would win it.  He never ever looked tired and and virtually never gave the ball away.  His passing was quick and accurate and put us, in an instant, from defence to ‘goal threatening’ attack.  How many times did we hear commentators and pundits saying  ‘It’s like having two players’ ...   at his best and played in the right position he could have got into just about any team in the world ...   he was that good.   He has been played out of position since he left us, been injured and probably lost a bit of confidence.  It’s not fair to compare him with Wilf who is still improving and is soooo important to us now ...   so I’m not going to.    But I think you get the idea about what I think of the little man ...   :)

It’s not even close. Peak Kante is one of the greatest midfielders ever seen in the Prem, he’s right up there with Keane Viera Essien Makalele et all and would get in any team in world football and make them better.

ndidi is a very good defensive midfielder who has yet to prove how good he is. He has potential but no where near the heights of Ngolo.

delighted to have him with us though, it’s no shame being below a world level great.

Yeah Kante was so  consistent whereas Ndidi is still prone to the odd stinker like today.

That's the difference between the 2015-16 side and this one - the ridiculous consistency.

Are you making the comparison with Kante when he played for us and Ndidi of now? Ngolo hasn't reached the heights that he did with us over the past two seasons for various reasons. Of course we'd most likely all vote for Kante if he was the same player that we had but now Wilf is the best option for us given his age and potential progress.

I think even now Kante > Wilf. He’s not been the same since 2018 because of Sarri changing his role and Jorginho being where he is.

He would fit perfect in our team in that hole. Can you imagine Kante with Maddison and YT? Devastating. He would do YTs running and would compliment each other perfectly.

Not really I voted ndidi based off kante's current peformances if it asked prime kante or prime ndidi however I would have voted kante.

There does appear to be a lot of bias in the thread.

If you have really been watching Chelsea games, you will see that Kante is even better than when he was here. His passing and shooting is way better than Ndidi although Ndidi is getting better with his passing and his tackling is probably now better than Kante.

So true.

And he has added scoring decent goals and running into opposition boxes to do so in recent seasons.

Is it just me who think he is "okay" and we could get better? As an observation he's good at winning the ball back but other than that very slow at passing and occasionally his control needs to be better.
