MPH Posted 18 June 2020 Posted 18 June 2020 Well, someone was going to ask it eventually! Saw a bit of talk in the transfer thread about this so thought it had to be asked.. If you had asked me 2 years ago i would have definitely said Kantè! Now, not so sure!

At this moment Ndidi, and he's only going to get better.

yorkie1999 Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Played how he played for us, probably Kante, but with the role he’s now moved into for Chelsea , n’didi by a mile
sacreblueits442 Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 ..Kante has the edge!!! Switch back to his previous role, no contest, even better than when he left.
Guest Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Depends what you want from them. For the current system I'd probably say Ndidi - it's the perfect role for him and he excels in it, whereas I think using Kante as a simple holding player is a massive waste and he doesn't have the physical presence that Ndidi has.
peach0000 Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Kante is just the better player in my opinion. Shocked that ndidi is winning in the poll. Shows a lot of bias in my opinion.

Yes there are many factors at play but Ndidi has been improving on the ball, has a powerful shot (Kante’s shooting is often dreadful), is a huge physical presence which suits our system perfectly and is 6 years younger. If you are looking from a long-term perspective Ndidi would be the better buy and will no doubt become world-class whereas Kante has shown to be world-class but his claim to that is somewhat dwindling at this current time. With these factors I’m not surprised that it is close.
Nod.E Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Kante is a better footballer and there's no real debate to be had there. However if we had to stick to our formation and player roles and you gave me the choice of N'didi or Kante filling his boots, I'd stick with N'didi. As a stopper his pure physicality is unrivalled. We press and press and when the ball breaks you're hit with a thumping header or a telescopic leg. So effective and Kante wouldn't be as good at that purely because of his size. He'd still be bloody good at it don't get me wrong but for that role, Wilf is a freak.

Crazy Kop Corner Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 I'm stating the obvious but Kante' the year we won the league was phenomenal and was absolutely world class i.e on his performances he'd have walked into any team in the world. However, since leaving us the difference between him and Wilf has really shortened and for all round play and importance to the team if I had to chose now I'd go with Wilf.
nnfox Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Definitely happy we have Ndidi now, but Kante in his season with us was a different level. The way he won balls he had no right to win by basically picking the pocket of the opposition was an absolute art form and a joy to watch.
shailen Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Very hard to call between the two, but I would go with N'didi. Both great readers of the game but I feel N'didi brings a little more aggression and keeps the ball a little better. For a player who is still only 23, he has got a lot of time on his side when he hasn't reached his peak.
TheSomersetFox Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Kante has more to his game for me. Ndidi is a freak but Kante was genuinely 2 players in 1. Has to be him for now
winteriscoming Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Went for Kanté. Although I think ndidi has been brilliant for us this season Kanté just edges it for me. I don’t get the argument that Kanté is going downhill. Since leaving us he’s won the premiership, World Cup and europa league.
fox_up_north Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Ndidi for all the other reasons others have said. But if he is poached then Kante return would be lovely, especially if he mentors Hamza and other younger players.
RumbleFox Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 I think Kante at his peak is better than Ndidi and better than Ndidi will ever be. For me he’s one of the all time greats in that role. Right this second though in terms of age and form I’d stick with Wilf. By the way this is in no way a dig at Wilf, I think he’s one of the top 2 or 3 in the league and will only get better but I just think Kante was Godly. X
Charl91 Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Prime Kante (though maybe not a fair comparison, because we probably haven't reached 'Prime N'didi' yet). But now, I'd choose N'didi. Like many have said, he's performing amazingly well, and he's still young, whereas Kante's getting on a bit now and probably only going to decline from here on in.
jonthefox Posted 19 June 2020 Posted 19 June 2020 Kante is probably the best player iv'e seen in a city shirt, however times move on and you shouldn't fix what isn't broken.
