He was barely the problem yesterday

It’s not so much that he was the problem, it’s that his role is meant to offer an attacking solution and I just don’t see the creativity in his game that will ever see us benefit from his presence in what would’ve been the KDH position when attacking. He’s not a dribbler and his body position/kicking style seems to be innately set up to hook balls inside and backwards.

With Ricardo out, he is our best option in that role the manager wants.

What else can we do?

I actually think Justin might be a better option than him on the left tbh. Obviously with Ricardo out that would potentially force us to play Hamza on the right, who had a shocker tonight. With the left back expected to offer attacking support in this set up, and Justin showing some ability in the past being able to cut in from the left inside the winger, it might be worth the risk.

of course hes part of the problem you divvy. hes absolute garbage. were trying to get back into the prem. if you want to sit in the championship for the rest of your life keep this mentality

Thomas was the least of the problems last night.

Soumare

Daka

Skipp

Choudhury

McAteer

were like Division 5 Sunday league players, that have just come back from a lads holiday, in Malia!

I thought he was crap, particularly in the first half when he was fortunate that Nelson was having a nightmare and taking the spotlight off him constantly tripping over the ball. One of our many players with no discernible strengths

Luke Thomas was absolutely abysmal last night - not sure how he gets away with it - there seems to be a weird empathy for him - literally every time he got the ball he gave it away or put a terrible ball in - 2 mins into the game he gave it away again on the edge of his own area and it didn’t get any better - 2 corners that he managed to get into the penalty area that a non league player should be doing isn’t saving him from heat either

nothing changes if nothing changes - Luke Thomas has and always will be absolutely pony

whats the purpose of these useless stats mate? the lad just passed back to faes or to monga. any average joe could do that. hes stealing a living. not the only one i must add. leicester city need to be back in the prem. having luke as a first team left back isnt going to get us there

Justin is a strong rb/lb and part of the three cbs in defensive shape, I agree but that wasn’t the role Thomas played last night

its not a last night issue mate tbh. years of rudkin handing out contracts to bang average players that are grossly overpaid for their actual contribution to the team. luke, along with a few others, falls well into that category

Should have been flogged long ago

I don’t even understand how Luke Thomas still plays for us - we have shipped him out numerous times on loan and  he didn’t get in championship teams at shef or midd - and yet he is still here and hasn’t been able to be sold -that’s because nobody wants him and he must be on a 10 year contract or something which is mental - the fact he seems to be first choice left back is an absolute disgrace- he might not be the biggest problem but all that shows is just how big the problems we have are

Least of our problems at present, with a midfield of Soumare and Skipp being played.

Nah he definitely isn’t the least - him and hamza are pretty close to being as bad as soumare and skipp - not a lot in it

Always think back to him when he first joined the first team, he was putting great crosses in, getting in the box and scored a couple times.

Seems to have had that side of his game coached out of him or he’s lost confidence in his attacking ability.

Like Hamza he local but limited and on a decent wage by Championship standards.

Both will never be more then they are, if we want to turn the club around these are the sort of people we need to move on from.

Both have played over a 100 games for the club and you can count there good moments on your fingers.

They are ok for this season, but need to be slow phased out of the club.

So far we've shifted 3 players and recruited a geriatric keeper for the veterans.

I don't see us shifting the 10-15 players that FT wants rid off in the next 18 days.

I mean Sheffield United were getting slapped about in the Premier League when he was on loan there so I’m not as surprised as you are that he didn’t get in a Sheff U team in the Championship

That why I said they are ok for this season but need phasing out.

I never said it needed to be done in 18 days.
