Luke has told me that he doesn’t like being away from Leicester, He said if he was to move then he would like it to be around the midlands. He’s got a nice big house in a lovely part of Leicester and seems the last year he has knuckled down and slowed down on the partying .

I thought this too. I'm sure he played in midfield at youth level too.

 

I miss his cutbacks. That always seemed to be his trademark when he first broke into the team: rather than crossing aimlessly he'd get forward and cut the ball back just in front of the box for a waiting runner.

 

Agree he does need to improve his strength, but he is much better in the air than people realise I think.

Thomas is the epitome of how man management at this club has failed players ever since we struck gold with Pearson and Ranieri (in his first season at least).

 

An awful lot of quality players have ultimately underperformed, or been unable to arrest declines after previously playing to a high level. Thomas joins the likes of Maddison, Barnes and Tielemans from the Rodgers era in that regard, but it's been a club culture problem for a decade now since the standards Pearson set deserted us after the title win. His ceiling is undoubtedly lower than those players, but he had a decent start before falling off a cliff with obvious confidence issues. He seemed to stop taking on his man overnight during that horrid 22-23 season, like it had been coached out of him.

 

Ndidi and Justin are two good more recent examples, though admittedly I think the latter is as much down to the injury as it is his confidence being in tatters.

 

Whoever we get in next needs to come with a reputation for motivation and getting the most out of individuals, because there's zero squad cohesion in this rabble to start the job for them.

Although tbf Goldings cameo (3min50s waiting to come on, 10s on the pitch) was rated better than goal scorer Ayew so it may not be a Tier1 source!

Had a real fire in him today, mouthing off at the ref and sticking his boot in. This is the aggression and physicality he needs. He'll be great in the Championship.

I’ve given him an awful lot of stick last few years. Good for him for remembering how to be a footballer again! 
 

I did caveat all along that he was horrifically mismanaged by the club. Never had a minute of u21 football or loans and thrown straight into the first team.

 

Hope he goes on to have a solid career whether with us or somewhere else.

He’s definitely bulked up a bit and seems more confident and aggressive, good to see. His recent resurgence is a big plus going into next season. Quite the turnaround and fair play to the lad.
