Can we get Ndidi and Mendy into the team?

I do think there is a time and place for both but only if Wilf has to fill in at CB or we need to swamp the midfield to contain and protect a narrow lead to close out a game where our creative payers are being nullified.

Having this depth of cover though does give us options, in that we can utilise our subs better, especially with the current injury issues, whereby if we lose a CB, Ndidi can drop into that role and Mendy takes over the DM role.

Wilf is the first name on the team sheet every week along with Vards.

We arnt a lower mid table team playing negative football like Puel anymore. Brendan tried it vs Brighton last season and it contributed to probably our worst performance in BRs reign.

 

Only 1 DM in our side so it’s either or and it’s not a question which.

I think if I had a time machine I'd obviously do the dinosaurs, JFK, 2015/2016 season, Roswell etc but I'd also find time to turn up for Mendy's 1 career goal out of 300 odd appearances! 

 

Edit - his goal  was 2015/16 season, what a time to be a live for life changing footballing events.

The problem is that we have played the 2 DMs and gone on to play negative football. I want a Ndidi Mendy brick wall with a front 4 of Vardy, Madders, Tim and Ricky.

 

It would only probably work against weaker opposition but that's where we've been struggling. None of this breaking down teams parking the bus, just wave after wave of those 4 causing chaos. 

 

Absolutely no requirement for Ricky and Tim to get back and defend, just have Ndidi and Mendy hound any break away.

We wouldn't . There is no need. Rodgers has already stated the same thing. It's tough on Mendy but he is just not at the same level as Ndidi.

N'didi is exceptional.  Mendy is good.

 

Mendy is a great back up.  With the players we have, if all are fit, he doesn't make the first team.
