Admittedly they just made 200 but the Surrey T20 lineup is ridiculous - both in the sense that they have stupid strength in depth when it comes to bowlers but they are also essentially playing 1 specialist batter (2 if you include Jacks), 1 keeper and 9 bowlers. Why have so many bowlers when there’s no way you can bowl them all their 4 allocated overs? They have Narine opening and the Curran brothers at 3 and 4 (who I would argue are both bowling all rounders). It just seems stupid to me!

Quite an ending to the IPL.

10 needed off the last 2 balls need then Jadeja hits a 6 and 4 so  CSK won!

Legend. Csk lost all the momentum as well leading up to those 2 balls. Gutted for Dhoni getting a duck on his final IPL game!

Also, a little record stat detail: Harry Brook needs 191 runs in this Test to be the sole holder of the record for being the fastest to 1000 Test runs. He's on 809 off 9 innings, and the fastest is 12.

NB. Have a look at the fastest to 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 Test runs in terms of innings and see how far ahead Don Bradman was of anyone and everyone before or since.

That's mental, and also didn't realise he only scored 6996 runs, presume the war meant less tests played

That and the fact that it was simply so much harder for teams to tour back then, as well as there only being three or four actual Test teams. Today England or Aus can play a good 10-12 Tests a year (if not more), back then they would be lucky to get five.

The man is such a statistical outlier it almost defies belief. In terms of mastering their sport and being ahead of everyone else, he's the greatest sportsman who lived, I think.

Ireland did well to sceapt to 172.

Expect a big 1st innings lead for England in response...

EDIT: Well 56 is quite good for him !

Hope no one had tickets for Sunday , even Saturday.

I do hope England bat all day here rather than trying to wrap the match up in two days. The match is already won at a time of their choosing, so be entertaining.

Not sure how much can be taken from this. Sri Lanka would’ve easily broken the world record/scored 1000+ against this Ireland attack so no reason why England wouldn’t do the same. Plus most of these haven’t played first class cricket in years as they disbanded the competition in Ireland.

Duckett did look in very good touch, but I suspect his hundred at Lords in April was tougher in terms of both conditions and bowling attack faced.
