That dolly drop by Brook has probably cost us the game

Bowling first against a team in good batting form and therefore putting no pressure on them likely cost us the game.

The drop has just made it all the more likely.

Really can't get over the decision to bowl first. Ludicrous.

We usually do better chasing than setting so I can understand the logic.

I really don't think it would've made much difference tbf. Although dropping Samson hasn't helped. It just isn't England's game today.

I can't in this case, mate. Not against a team in good batting form and where our own has shown frailty under pressure.

It's allowed India the chance to put maximum scoreboard pressure on and they're doing exactly that.

Perhaps, though him coming in chasing around 200 might have applied a little more stress than giving him a platform to run riot.

Though things in this tournament will have been planned in a way to give the hosts the biggest possible advantage, the truly great teams find a way, like (and I hate saying it), the Aussies in 2023.

In t20 World Cup knockout games played at night, the chasing team has won something like 95% of the games over the last 5 tournaments or something daft like that so it was an easy decision.

That I did not know, thank you.

But that being said, it clearly should have been only one part of the overall decision making here.

I wonder what is totally beyond England's reach here. 230? Anything above 200 will be tough, I think.

It’s such a road, we can chase 250 if Buttler (finally) and Brook turn up.

Think a lot hinges on whether Buttler and Salt are both in at the end of the powerplay.

It’s 4 overs v Bumrah to be cautious and then 16 overs of slogging against very poor and overrated trash bowlers.

FYI, England's highest successful chase is 230.

I wouldn't put the house on a record breaker here, even if the wicket is a road.

Top 5 will need to peform and get us to 150/160 and then hope the likes of Curran and Jacks can finish off. Someone got to go big though.

Genuine slogs go for 6, need to make our slogs don't find the fielder.

Dawson has bowled so well, surely you have to back him to bowl a second over even if he took a tonking in his first.

Will Jacks bowing in the power play and the final over, he's done ok but they are some tough overs for a part time spinner.
